Yeah, calaway, a shorter wheelbase car will turn in quicker than a longer wheelbase one. That's why MINIs and Miatas handle better than luxo sedans. I still don't see any reason not to dream about a rwd mini.

LOL i didn't say you couldn't dream of a rwd mini. i would LOVE to be proven wrong about how it will handle, but my theory stays with me. Yeah, it will turn quickly, but there's a point when the car becomes too much of a handfull and it OVERSTEERS excessively. Then you get more trouble than speed. I don't know for sure. TRY IT PLEASE!!!!!!

just speak to Z-cars mate! they can drop a 260bhp K20 motor in the back of an original MINI (shorter wheelbase than the current one) and still make it handle well.

oh yeah they could also do you a 400 bhp Hyabusa powered version or even a 450bhp supercharged K20 engine if you want. lol

so would you want to keep the original engine or use something else in the conversion????

Chris.

PLEASE keep us posted on what he says. would be as to see a 13b turbo in there. only problem is hooking the rear wheel drive up. that is going to tkae alot of work. be nice if someone could just build a rear subframe that housed a ford 8.8 inch diff, rear draive shafts, hubs, brakes and suspension. then we could really set the mini world alight!

Now, that rear wheel thing would be sweet. I would love to see this happen.

I agree on the all motor option. Get higher compression rotors & lightened internals, that thing will spin to 12,000.

i know mate! this is the thing that makes the RWD thing so hard. you have to enginer the back end so much. if there was a kit it would invite people to do these things.

can only hope that RMW or Zcars or some is listening and comes out with a kit. i love the Mid engined Z-cars minis juts wish they could do something for the modern stuff.

Cheers

Chris.
