Magnaflow Exhaust Owners

I put my Magnaflow exhaust on Thursday evening. The trumpet tips are so close to the rear bumper valance, about 1/16 of an inch. After the install, I heard on occasion when the car is cold, what sounded like the tips rubbing against the bumper valance. I checked the clearance of the exhaust last night, and everything is perfect, but the clearance of the tips is where the occasional vibration is coming from. I tried to adjust the exhaust, but it appears that the tips need to be brought down about 1/4 of an inch to prevent this vibration. I believe the only way to adjust the exhaust hangers is to heat them, and slightly bent them so that I can adjust the tips. Has anyone else with a Magnaflow, or any exhaust had this problem?

Get some alum. strap,3/8x1 and cut to the length of the rubber hangers.Drill to match and install between hangers and floor. This should lower the exhaust just enough.

Go to a Muffler Shop

This problem is common, and easily solved. If you own an Oxy-Accetaline torch, you just heat the muffler hangers and move the tips where you want them. Since most people don't own a torch, just take it to a muffler shop and they will fix it in a few minutes.

Also adjusting the middle section up will move your tips down. Loosen all the connectors and see what you can do.

+1. Try positioning the the tips yourself by playing with the exhaust connections first. If all else fails, you can take it to a shop.
