I am noticing an increased vibration in the rear of catback now.Maybe the header is settling in,but the increased exhaust pulses are wiggling the milltek a bit more.
It's a funny curious game we play, when we choose to go faster!
I'm getting tuned by Jan next week, maybe that will smooth out things some.
?
Thanks Astro
Check with Jan before you wrap that OBX. I'm not sure what it's made out of, I think it's mild steel. That has a tendency to crack when you wrap it because of the excess heat and stress associated with heat cycling like that. The RMW header is 304 grade stainless and doesn't have that issue.

FYI I'm not knocking the OBX at all, I had it on my car for nearly 10,000 miles before I swapped it out for the complete RMW exhaust. It works great for what it is, but it's not going to compete with a $1,200 header .

So lets see if i understand you are not only having Jan increase your HP via a tune and eliminate your exhaust rattle?

Now there's a challenge for Jan

Hey Jan my drivers side window sticks - got tune for that

The OEM style super flexible joints have lots of issues, but the flex joint on the RMW header is great. It's expensive, but works wonderfully.

How much actual flex is there in Jan's set-up. From a pic I saw it did not seem very flexy. Not saying its bad - just curious.

I'm glad i was able to serve you up such a good laugh.
However amusing,I posted with only a hint of seriousness in regard to the tune being able to end my vibration issue. It does seem to become rather alchemical though(the solutions to car problems). As far as the tune goes,I'll be satisfied with just a faster ride.

Just funning w/ ya. MORE importantly wanted to pull Jan's leg and give him a new challenge because giving people HP has become to easy for him. . I think we need to start coming up w/ special requests.

When I first installed mine , I had a little rattle and even though it sounded or felt that it came from the header - it ended up being the shield in the back. I played w/ that and it went away but I still get a little rattle when backing up under light rpms loads.

Try removing the rear shield and drive around and see if anything changes. Another thing perhaps to look at is the engine mount bushings. I saw one removed form a car that wasn't that old and the rubber had broken up.

Bahama,
Those are all sound ideas.
It is bizarre how those vibrations travel.
I keep seeing recomends for poly bushings -my next endeavor.
On a somewhat related note:I'm changing out my injectors before tune.
Doc Obnx's blow by blow pics look helpful.Have you done this procedure?
Daunting?

Nope - still running stock Injectors. Until I I see myself running lean, I see no reason to change. Even w/ a custom tune, I'm still piggy rich up top so the last thing I need is more fuel. I added a WB O2 so I am now finally informed about things.

Jan's coming to Florida, I though I would give him a crack at my A/F otherwise I was thinking of doing a head/cam this summer so I would need a tune then.
