exhaust cleanup

i just bought a used magnaflow catback from a NAM member and would like to clean it up a little before i put it in. its mostly grime and sand but its pretty caked on there from the newengland winters. do i power wash it, scrub it? can sombody point me in the right direction

powerwashing is a good start. you can also use some WD40 and steelwool, especially to brighten the tips.
