Catback install, how long does it take typically?

I recently picked up an Invidia catback and plan to install this weekend using a friends four post lift. I'm looking for some real world experience on how long this typically takes on the MCS.

Sounds about right. Mineke took 2 hours to fab, weld in and install a 2.5 inch pipe from the cat to my new Dinan exhaust.

I would say that 2 hours is more realistic for the do it yourself install.

It was an hour job for me. Rusty bolts at the converter will make the job drag on a bit longer. On a lift it should be very easy IMO.

That's my fear. My car was an East coast car for a number of years before coming west.

Thanks,
Todd

I'd try soaking the bolts with some PB blaster the day before you do the job. Also make sure to use a six point socket. If the bolts are being stubborn using a bit of heat will also help. One last thing, have a set of bolts & nuts handy in case you do break one.

The fact that you can do the job standing up will make it so much easier than working while laying on your back.

I installed my Alta by myself. It took longer to get both the back wheels jacked up at the same time than the install itself .

Mine only took around 2 hours to get off (stupid hanger bolts)....but took me a good 3-4 HOURS to get back on! The biggest part was the stupid hanger holders...biggest pain ever. My freaking header took less time.

AGREED, generally takes more time getting the exhaust out of the packaging and car in the air, than it takes to replace the system itself. Assuming you have the proper tools (and or enough beer) an hour should be sufficient!

Let me know if I can help in anyway on the install (regardless of the brand!)

Did the install yesterday. Took two hours total start to finish. The majority of the time (about an hour and a half) was getting the old system off. My car came from the East Coast and the bolts and brackets around the old mufflers were rusted in place.

Glad to hear you got the job done. 2 hours isn't bad considering you had to deal with rusty bolts. How's it sound?
