So i got a good deal on an Alta S/C pulley and belt. I decided to install them on Sunday afternoon.

My question is, How do I know for sure what Alta size pulley it is? It is not stamped like some I have seen.

Also, the belt that came with it was a NAPA belt # 060539. But at high RPMs I can slightly smell it slipping. Boost gauge is hitting 17psi.

It is supposed to be a 19%.

 

Looks like a 19. Just contact alta and ask them what it should me miked at.

 

Well you would have to get some calipers and do some math I imagine. The diameter times pie is the circumfrence (sp). Subtract the smaller one and that number should be 19% of the larger number. i am problably wrong, your boost sounds right.

 

I read on Alta's site that they recommend the NAPA belt #060535, mine came with the #060539 which is the one for a 2% crank pully.

Is there that much difference between the belts to go change it?

 

Hey not to pee in anyones pool. If that is genuine ALTA and a 19% it will have 19% engraved into it. Maybe it is a REALLY old 15%. The very first ones had no engraving as we hadn't made any other sizes.
