In the 6spd tranny questions?

I have a 03 MCS 6spd and was wondering about the following before it becomes an issue later.

If I plan on around 250hp and as much tq as i can get along with it. Will getting shorter gears make it too short? I can understand the improvement for low power apps but is it really worth it at higher HP or probably tq is more important.

When the time comes..

- lighter flywheel dunno wich yet
- Clutch ( i hear stocker is rated at 180tq or has been tested to that) dunno wich brand yet
- Quaife LSD (side note although the fordracing LSD wont fit I had one on my ford focus and it was very nice had like 75%-80% tq bias vs the quiafe for that application wich had 60%)
- Shorter Gears? as my main question suggests will upwards of 180+ tq cause these gears to be "too short"?

Alot of the guys running 250+ actually seem to go fro the higher geared boxes.......i have a clutchmaster flywheel and stg3 clutch that i ordered from Jan at RMW....I would highly suggest talking to him if you want to make this kind of power. Quaife is definately going to be a must and a nice set of tires...

I asked Brian at Fireballed about this a year or so ago and he said the same thing. He prefers the taller gears of the early transmission for a higher hp car. We just did the clutchmaster clutch and flywheel and quaife. It will be going to the track on the 9th and we can't wait to see how it performs

This is great/good "Grood" info for me as im a 03 cause those gear kits are like over a grand sheesh.

Id like to hear about the clutchmaster combo. My focus had a spec stage 2 and a clutchmaster flywheel. The spec was alright but the flywheel was well Grood.

I love my stage 3 and flywheel combo....really revs up faster and pulls a good bit harder to redline....
