Oil catch can problem

I have had my occ for about three years now and have yet to empty it. I installed it according to the instructions provided by the manufacturer. Also the silicone hose that was provided is now weeping oil that I must wipe off occasionally and has changed its to grey blue, is this normal for this type of hose??. I have contacted the manufacturer and was told that I could purchase new hoses without any exolanation of what might have occured. I drive weekly about 500 km's and mostly Autobahn.
Thanks for any input or ideas.

I gotta ask = how much oil was in the CC after 3 years?

While no hose expert Silicon hose comes in pretty colors but clearly don't tolerate heat, oil, temp changes and pressure as well as OEM type hose.

My M7 OCC came with OEM type hose and I swapped it out for some pretty blue silicon hose. I was into this blue engine bay theme at the time. The hose started to collapse so I installed what had been originally supplied. The hose is black and ugly (compared to silicon) but should last the life time of the car.

I would tell you just to go out and pick-up some OEM type hose but if your into this engine bay color theme, just know that the price you will pay is more often replacement of the hose. Considering that the hose needed is about 15 bucks (silicon) - its not a lot of money for aesthetics.

Had the same problem with my Silicone hose turning dingy. So i went with stainless steel sleeved OEM hose. Its all about the "BLING" baby. Check out my Gallery for picks.

noticed you have the alta can. did you hook up to both breathers from the valve cover or just one? the early instructions had you reroute the pcv system, which screws everything up. click the "homebrew catch can" link in my sig.
