Dont Make sense

Intake 10hp
Intercooler 20hp
Catback 10hp
Downpie 12hp
Inlet Tubes 7 hp
Boost Tubes 10hp
Ecu 35 hp
Mini cooper s 172

It should be 266hp so if its 220 max alta is just putting number up there.

That's NEVER how it works. If you do each thing alone it adds about the numbers you posted. Once you already have certain things you're not going to get the max amount from other parts.

Also he stated 220Wheelhp which say 18% loss equals 260enginehp.

well you can't just add up the hp gains from each part to get your total hp, it doesn't work like that....once you have certain parts on your car, the net gain from adding new parts goes down; I know it sucks, but that's how it is.

I believe the hp at the crank will then be around 255-260.....which would also mean torque at the crank would be around 300

If you factor in a drivetrain loss of approximately 14%, 220 wheel horsepower would yield a 255 flywheel hp rating.
265 wtq yields approximately 308 flywheel torque - not quite sure if the formula for torque is the same as horsepower.
The formula is [1.00 / .86 (.14 drivetrain loss)] x wheel hp rating.

So theres no point of adding all the alta stuff to your car i wont make that much difference. I just purched the car to fix it up but i guess with a v4 your very limited to what you can do. I am glad I am getting m3 in march.

Is the 14% a guess or is that a known figure on these things?

I just got rid of my 10 second 600hp Z06 for this Mini and am very happy with it. I was going to go M3 but it's just soo played and the new one is too soft and heavy. You'll find the same upgrading issues with that M3...ya know...when you get it. How old are you?

I had the z06 a red one it was very nice but in the rain it really sucks it goes everywhere. So I got a 750 il wich i love but its not for my age i am 22 so i got a mini to go out and stuff but i also put a deposit on the new m3 i was told its a really fast car and for the money its the best you can get safety and performance. I LOVE THE MINI DONT GET ME WRONG but i wish it was a lot faster.

It is an approximation based on front wheel drivetrain loss falling somewhere between 12% and 16% - I split the difference and came up with 14%.

The 12% - 16% figure I got from RSX and GTI forums - the 2 cars I owned previously. I believe most modern front drivers are pretty similar in terms of drivetrain losses.

unsalada: Thank you for your interest in ALTA Performance Products. Sorry you feel the gains are not significant enough, but I think you may want to look at some other real world numbers coming from people like MikeG above. Look at his trap speeds and ET after just a few mods to his car. The results are VERY impressive. And even he will admit there is more there.

If I can help with any of your decision making process, PLEASE let me know!

Thanks again!

I drove my Z06 every day. Rain and snow. Wasn't too bad at all. You should look into maybe the E46 comp edition M3. Don't get the new M3..at least not yet. They're bringing the CSL model to the states this time around. The new M3 is like the M5...no longer a real drivers machine.

I am not very good at waiting thats the problem I had an m3 before I loved it. I mean you can beat pretty much anything out there and you feel safe. the z06 felt like it was made out of car board. Its a really nice fast car but i like bmw alot i was offerd a carrera s4 but its not a car for my age. i needed a luxury car for work thats why got a 750 but m3 would go more for my age. its fast enough you dont have to do anything to it

Yeah the build quality on the Z isn't the best. One of the reasons I got rid of it. Lemon Lawed. What about a 996GT3? Or cheaper and faster is the 996turbo. Get them for cheaper than the M3 you've got ordered and it's much more car. Whatever you do best of luck and post pix.

It will definitely be quick....look at the power to weight ratio, and it will be better than cars like 350z, STI, Evos, etc..........without ecu tune I did 0-60 in 5.9

Just remember the MINI isn't 0-60 car; I see low 5sec as reasonable....however just remember, 30-50 or 50-90 with the Alta parts and ecu should be really extremely quick; I'll let you know about that for sure tomorrow
