Drivetrain Scorpion vs. Borla Sport, which is better for sound and perf
Hey Silver,
I kinda understand what you want about loud, and Kinda don't.
Yea, I know, you will probrably think that i'm an old man!
As a younger man, I had such vehicles avalible to me as such,
Plymouth RoadRunner, Dodge Charger, Olds 442. As new vehicles!!
(yea yea, don't say noth'in about the grey hairs)
but I picked an MGB! had several of them, they were a gas! way back then.
So for the sound, the best is to look for a "TUNED" sound, as for loud, you won't
get it from a 4-banger. Need to visit the V-8's.
I know the HONDA's are the young peoples choice, but when I hear them with
after market exhuast, they sound like the HONDA motorcycles of the 60's
I just grin and laugh.
Just my 1/2 cent worth is to go for tone, you want loud, run open headers

>>borla vs scorpion which has the best sized tips to fill up the center bumper slant?
red03mini,
I installed the Scorpion on the 14th and I love it.
The exhaust tips are 90mmx75mm( that's app. 3 1/2"wide by 2 3/4" tall ovals) they completely fill up the opening and look mean! It comes in 4 pieces and sounds good, but I wouldn't say that its loud.
With the pulley making the s/c louder the Scorpion is like a harmony with the s/c and the sound is like a high dollar sports car.
The only draw-back will be that it's 2 1/4" diameter but even when I put my ALTA Intake, Header, and do my ECU upgrade I don't think it will be too restictive.
Even now with just the Pulley and Scorpion the car is as fast as "a cat in a room full of rocking chairs".
On the upside it was only $494.00+ shipping and $4.95 for the anti-seize for the joints. That beats the heck out of all other Exhaust and that extra cash will go towards the Header. Regards, Itzamazn

I really really really want to see some pics of this Scorpion system...the tips as well as the under car setup. And sound files would be extra great, but I know...I ask a lot.
Questions:
1) Where did this system come from?
2) Why is 2 1/4" such a negative?
3) How was the install?
Holla!

chitown_coop,
I got mine from Bavarian Autosport in Portsmouth, N.H. 03801 (1 800 535-2002)
item#480 BM48 $494.95
Some systems out their are 2 1/2" and will give less restriction, but the stock header and cat are where the greater restrictions are.
I'm content with the Scorpion at 2 1/4" and can feel more power than with just the puley. It's made of 304 stainless and is of execeptional quality.
The install was not that bad. I'm 54 and with 30+ years of back problems so it was hard to do for me on jackstands laying on the floor. Mainly because everytime I'd get under I'd have to get back up to look for the tools .Our shop is a mess right now.My brother prepared his 54 Olds.88 Convertable for the Olds Nationals in Lanshing, Michigan and left our tools scattered, so I'd have to seach for everything I needed. A lift would be ideal. The real "tester"is getting the stock exhaust out of those rubber hangers. I use a welding vice-grip clamp with beveled ends to push the flaired tips thru the rubber( randy uses a gaint channel locks).Putting the four pieces together under the car was easier than getting the stock exhaust down. The Exhaust has good band clamps that seal 360 degrees and are well made out of stainless steel, as is everything else. Be sure to get the anti-seize $4.95 unless you already have it.
There are some good pictures on one of the Forums, you could try search and probable get them faster than I'll be able to post any.
Sorry for such a long answer, if I can be of any help, let me know.
Ryan, I don't know why they are so cheap, because it is truely a quality piece of workmanship. It's ashame you can only see the "Bada$$ tips". The whole unit is a feast for the eyes.
Talk to you guys later, Itzamazn

Here are videos of greendevils scorpion exhaust, in and out.

There I think I did that right. Enjoy.

here is my turbo charged crx, running a 3 inch greddy cat back

Thinking about getting an exaust soon, but I was under the impression that most need to be welded. This seems not to be the case with the scorpion. Has anyone done the installation of a Borla? Does it come with similar clamps?
Whoever has bought the scorpion exhaust from bavarian auto, or anyone who knows this, when will their sale be over, or does it not end. Because I have heard all the sound clips of everything, except the borla race, and I think that I would like the scorpion because it produces good power and sounds good. I wanted a magnaflow but if I can get this for $100 cheaper then why not.
Thanks
Bryan
