Your observations are correct..... whiners always find something to whine about...... even if it is total BS.... say it long enough and loud enough and the lemmings might believe you..... this kind of crap pisses me off....... promote your own stuff on its merits .... Jan comes with a dyno chart....I respect that.... a psuedo intelectual disussion of "intellectual property" is just annoying

Partsman...Bzzzuuuttt Please play again..
Thats not a RMW header...now if Jan wants to trade me one of his for this one....Yeah. Like thats gonna happen
Who's next in todays at home version of "Guess the Header" here on NAM

It's DMH's header.

PS: Look in my gallery for RMW header (prototype)

The flex *is* in the correct location.
That is a 2006 version. Some of the changes for the 2007 included a different flex, cat, mufflers, flanges to v-bands, relocated O2 bung locations and ecu tuning.
Stainless is the right material for street usage but not for heavy-duty Mini track use due to expansion.

OK, OK, my bad! I retract my pissey little comment. I happened to know it was the Stahl, and tbh, I thought it looked better when Matt (DrObnxs) posted his early model photos.
And the reason I'm taking my BS back, is that I never wanted it to be associated with Jan and RMW, because I think he's doing the Mini community a great service and making great *system* products which include headers and exhaust systems. The only one who's never produced a dyno chart or a measurement is dmh, and yet he interjects on this thread to cast aspersions on Juston and his header design.
Let's get back to the topic. I'm very happy with my CMC header, and as soon as I can get a dyno for it, I will. I have pretty much a "before" dyno, as I've done no additional engine mods and with the stock header I pulled 179whp, pretty normal for a pulley and Milltek catback.
Again, sorry guys, I lost the seasonal spirit there for a moment.

I'm happy with the header...it works well and the coating has held up to multiple track days. In fact the entire DMH sourced exhaust system has been a non-issue. It just works right, sounds and looks great. The only part of my exhaust that was not sourced from Don is the tips.
Two minor issues. The bolts in the first flange tended to work loose but that was fixed by using a flexnut with an internal taper. The other is the M7 USS doesn't clear. Thanks to TSW the fix was easy by swapping to the X-Brace.

Don,
I'm not sure why you feel the need to **** on this thread. Aren't most exhaust designs somewhat derivative in nature anyway? I don't get the idea that Justin grabbed a Saclam or other similar design and decided to duplicate it. He only seems to be applying his experience and expertise to make an apparently effective custom header for the MINI. Your insinuating differently just sounds like sour grapes to me, unless you know something you're not sharing with the rest of us.

I have never written anything about a product/person that I did not believe in. It is not the products that Don represents that I have a problem with but rather Don's constant negative, fault finding condescending , manipulative devisive rhetoric that usuallly I ignore, I find offensive, but this attack on Juston is just rediculous.....
Juston did give me a discount as my unit was the prototype and as far as I am concerned the Stahl at that time was in my opinion just as untested..... except by Don's word and, my only knowledge of Don at the time was by his own promotion ...... The results would have been made public......dyno sheets would do the talking...... I keep forgetting he definition of the term "shill"
In the industries that I work in it is common for early adoptors and influential people to get discounts on products and it is understood that if they like them they will "endorse" the products..... I certainly can claim to being an early adoptor and I have in the past and continue to get PMs asking my opinion on products..... If I have any status in the Mini community it is because I spent a ton of money ( like many others) some of which was on unproven products some of which did nothing or at best were subtraction by addition....... that being said, there are some I do not like and have no performance advantage and when asked I give that opinion just as the products I have had good results with, I give favorable "reviews"
Many of my mods happened before DMH, LDG hit the scene. I will acknowledge that Don's and LDG emergence on the Mini scene raised the bar quite a bit. While there were race teams for the Mini none were vocal on NAM and their expertise was published very seldom Don and John did a great job of sorting out the issues that many of us were having problems with and generous with their opinions.....for that he/they are deserving of that acknowledgement and accolades. (I just deleted a brief summary of the hitory of mods and tuners over the last 4 years..... many of you know the stories and lived through this with me.)
However,
Disparaging the competition is one big no-no..... pointing out competitive advantages is how it is done by professionals...... more of the later and less of the former has always worked well and promoted an image of dignity and integrity for the practicing companies.
It would be nice to see more professionalism....even if you have to fake it.
I make no apologies

well said sir
I just got a pm from Don who called me a "shill" He reminds me that I asked for a discount on the Stahl header .... ( I ask for discounts everywhere.... I am a rep for 25 yrs.. wholesale is the world I lve in) for the discount I would dyno the unit before and after publish the results and this would net Don a favorable review (the claim as I remmeber from Don was 15-20 whp) that much power SHOULD get a favorable review..... I assumed that Don knew what he is doing and that his products were excellent..... I assumed that the unit would perform and therefore be deserving of a favorable review......the dyno sheets would do the talking.... I backed out......

Hey welcome the club. The "shill" list is growing fast. Anyone who post's favorable opinions of products not sold by Don (DMH) becomes labeled as a "shill". It couldn't be that they are just a happy customer. They must have been payed or received free or discounted products.
I'm not surprised at all that you received love letter from Don. I have and so have a lot of other people. How do I know this. I keep receiving PM's from people sending me PM's from Don because they are shocked at what he had to say.. It is what it is.
I look forward to reading Don's posts. It's like reruns of Seinfeld, they still make me laugh

Yes Don has a issue with anything not invented or sold by him and this is not anything new. He has always marketed his solutions by bashing everyone else. I do think that Don has value to the mini community but the way he comes across on NAM is reckless and of no value to anyone.
There are more and more Minis being sold and plenty of business to go around . With that being said everyone is entitled to their own opinion and it is good to provide them but this constant bashing without merit is getting old.
Below is a post where he claimed Truechoice did not give him credit for coilover designs and how the Mini Community was ripping off the stuff he sells. He stated he could prove it but nothing was provided and Outmotoring provided some details that Don did not respond too.
The post link is here ---> Link
No, no, no no. Actually, these were developed with my input with Phil at TrueChoice last year. I've got all the documents and photos to prove it. I guess that didn't make press release though.
The program was dropped for two reasons. Price: for $1400 plus the cost of good camber plates (not IE cheapies) there are simply better choices available. For an additional $200 you get much more adjustability and better materials with CROSS. Integrity: TC wanted me to send them Leda dampers to copy. And that just doesn't fit my business plan.
But it sure does others...
>>>It’s interesting to see my work showing up again and again with no mention of credit anywhere. The cheaply made imitations include MTH software piracy, Stahl header copies made out of the wrong material, and cylinder head copies with inexpensive SuperTech valves and springs. The end user will eventually find out that they will not perform as well as the original. All you have to do is follow the money in racing.

The YouTube video of ice on the engine during dyno runs was quite sightful. Maybe on this run Jan innovated like his minion PGT said and used dry ice!
You "backed out" because I didn't offer you a discount.
"In the industries that I work in it is common for early adoptors and influential people to get discounts on products and it is understood that if they like them they will 'endorse' the products..." SpiderX
Your issue is believing instead of knowing. Your perceived status is a farce as you have no automotive knowledge to speak of.
It's simply been entertaining reading about your mini life. Ever write anything favorable about the M62? Webbs cylinder head? DFIC? Who do you feel about those sorry souls who followed your lead (because you are "respected") and bought products you no longer continue to endorse? What do you believe in know?

Out of the way of what?
hyperbole Don, hyperbole
progress and those customers who choose not to buy from you. sending them nastygrams via PM is, well, low-rent. Behe has rubbed off on you and not in a good way....hard to believe this is the same Don I had some good conversations with on the phone a year ago after buying an exhaust from you.

Thank you for posting about the coilovers. TrueChoice asked me to develop them and I did (it's what I do). I dropped the program when the costs didn't equal the value as there are better options for the price. Outmotoring claimed never to know about my involvement.

Two minor issues. The bolts in the first flange tended to work loose but that was fixed by using a flexnut with an internal taper. The other is the M7 USS doesn't clear. Thanks to TSW the fix was easy by swapping to the X-Brace.

In your opinion it is overstated but the data proves my point. I am Six Sigma certified so I drive my results from the data.(I have lots of it) (FYI: Don the data I am referring to is your bashing of other Vendors or anyone that disagrees with you and you never proving any of it with facts just hearsay)
Outmotoring did not in any way use the work you had with Truchoice and if you have facts to prove they are it is a good time to show the community other wise your just bashing without merit (I am sure the mods will be deleting this since it does not belong in this thread.) Yes you worked with Truechoice and no they did not use your design
Just a FYI I have never talked to Jan and do not have any of his parts but I have to wonder how he was pulled into all of this or are you just taking cheap shots at anyone that you can?
Come on Don just stop and change your ways.
From Truechoice / outmotoring

Thank you Don for correcting your statements.
As a side note, ignorance implies a lack of understanding, education or otherwise negative passive action. In this case I would prefer to not be considered ignorant (even as a matter of speech).
Here is a quick review:
We are NOT using shocks or springs even close to what was partially developed/specified with DMH and Truechoice.
Phil (from Truechoice) operates a very professional business (in my opinion) and he chose to keep his work with DMH confidential and as such I was not made aware of previous projects, which reflect his strong business ethics which is why I chose to work with them.
I was only made aware of it this morning when I contacted Phil to discuss the comments received via email from Don, which as noted above have been corrected.
Thank you Don.
As anyone who has done business with us or knows someone who does business with us/me they will hopefully know that we run a top notch business with strong ethics.
My reputation is not for sale.
