Header Bolts

I have just ordered an OBX header w/ cat from helix...
http://www.helix13.com/mini/products/exhaust (at bottom of page)
...and while researching info about header installs, I came across something about the stock header bolts not being suitable for re-use. I.E. - they are only meant to be installed once, after that, the little teeth that grip the header are worn out and thus, loosen very easily.

Has anyone else heard of this? Should I consider getting new header bolts? I know mini-madness sells locking header bolts supposedly for this exact issue. Thanks!

It's always a good idea to use new bolts in this application . ARP is an outstanding supplier and easily sourced.

I use locking header bolts which are reusable. Can be found here: http://www.mini-madness.com/index.as...ROD&ProdID=270

Locking-bolts

i also use the locking bolts from http://www.mini-madness.com/index.as...ROD&ProdID=270, and have not had one problem with them. Sure is nice not having to worry about a leak or loosing a bolt.

Well, the header came in. I Can't seem to get the springs compressed enough to thread the nuts on the bolts that came with the header. Anyone have any ideas?

sorry. No photos of it in the car.

I also reused my header bolts, but have a 2nd set in the closet if the need should ever arise.
