Spark plug question...

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the life span of spark plugs typically? I have almost 40k on my 05 MCS and I'm just wondering how long before the plugs need to be replaced on average. I've been getting what I guess you can call a "stumble" when I accelerate with about 3/4 throttle. Just wondering if plugs might be the culprit.

Also, while I'm at it, how long do injectors usually last?

Thanks for your help!

Dude...Im at 72K on original plugs. I need to replace them soon. They will probably look like Kalvins at AMVIV (the electrodes were gone so the gap was like .400")...LOL

They are easy enough to pull and check.

The plugs themselves generally have no problems going 50k, 75k, or even 100k miles. The problem comes from the fact that if you leave the factory plugs installed for that long, you run the risk of the steel spark plug threads essentially "welding" themselves to the aluminum threads in the cylinder head.

I would pull the plugs, clean them, make sure the gap width is still correct, and then smear a *little* anti-seize on the threads before replacing them and torquing them to spec. This will make it a lot easier to replace them in the future if you need to.
