Just Another Stock DYNO

Well Dynoed the mini today... its Stock, sport button off if that even matters, maybe in lowend response. First run was after about sitting for an hour let it idle for a couple of mins. Second run about 5 mins form the last one let it cool and a bit of water sprayed on the intercooler...

Drastic changes in A/F...

BTW since this is my first car traction control (yes turned it off) im assuming its normal for the ABS light and the tire monitor lights to come on... At least thats what friends a the dyno told me and the norm on these cars... lol just to double check.

I'll say! The second run looks dangerously lean.

Excellent numbers though! 180hp/200ft-lbs

The "sawtooth" AFR is very normal for the R56 MCS. If you datalog the onboard wideband you'll see that everytime you hit WOT/boost. The AFR's aren't lean, btw, because you can run way leaner than "usual" as the car is direct injected. The rules of thumb for port injection no longer apply.

Congrats on the dyno; looks pretty normal, a bit more top end power than mine and Grassroots Motorsports came up with.

Kinda weird to see the speed instead of RPM...

Nice numbers though!

yeah, I need to "re-tune" my thinking on that one. I'm used to much lower AFR's on turbo cars, especially stock ones (non-direct inj).

Thanks guys...

Sorry for the speed reading can put it in rpms if you want...

About the Lean run that was actually the very first run the rest were rich with a lean spike up top. The red lines is my last run.

Sorry for the late response, I was out @ SEMA and the at a wedding, so I've been playing catch up ever since -- not much forum time.

I'm running an AEM progressive meth kit. I actually have not dynoed it yet, I have done a few runs to get it dialed in and it feels a little bit stronger, but I have not had the time to strap it down and see what it can do.

The meth kit install is a PITA on the Mini -- it's hard to find a spot to mount the pump, tank, and the intercooler piping has a MAP sensor in it right before the last piece of soft piping. To avoid damaging this sensor, you have to go in after it, which doesn't leave you alot of room, so I fabbed up an aluminium pipe w/ a bung in it for the meth. Wiring is also a PITA, and you'll have to either get the ATP boost source adapter or tap your manifold for the AEM kit since it uses boost as a reference.

I think the kit will be exceptional when I can tune the car, but the butt dyno says it's good for a few ponies.

There are some pictures here:
http://www.jscspeed.com/rides/projec...oject_mini.htm

I mounted the pump and tank in the trunk -- the pump is in the spare tire well and the tank is on a bracket I fabbed up. I took power off the rear cig lighter and mounted the controller in the hidden panel over the glove box. I still have some work to do since the pump is taller than the tire well -- so I need to use some foam and fiberglass to make a new panel for the trunk floor.

I'm considering putting the pump under the hood in the bottom of the engine bay and using a bulkhead fitting to tap into the windshield washer tank - at that point I might consider using the Alta kit (I had the AEM kit left over from my Evo).
