Drivetrain M7 Intercooler bezel
M7 Intercooler bezel
I wanted to pre-release our new M7 R56 Intercooler Bezel to the NAM
comunity.
The Intercooler on our beloved R56 has some issues no doubt, but there's nothing that can't be improved upon. If you take a very close look at where the intercooler is placed, you will find that one third of the core is below the airflow sightline thus lowering down the efficiency of the core.
The M7 solution is inexpensive and incredibly efficient without the cost of a
large intercooler.
We will have two versions, the one in the images is the "Racing Version".
As you can see from the prototype I extended the lower edge past the
front body work thus scooping up cool high velocity air, aiming it in to the intercooler with great results. With this mod you will have to make a cut-out below the intercooler.
If cutting a hole in the bumper gives you the hives
enter the "Street Version" same basic design but no bottom scoop.
Both are made in aluminum with or without powder coating.
Price: Racing version $139 est
Price: Street version $99 est
Powdercoating will add a small amount, and the finish will be either
Black or Red Powder coat.
We will have these available for sale in less then 2 weeks. We will take pre-orders for both versions.

If you have a dremel tool or a jigsaw.....10 minutes of work, just follow the template....very easy.
As for gains it's hard to gauge as it can't be meassured on a dyno, but with that said, anything you do to cool the IC is a big

how do you this improves things then? I thought you guys were getting datalogging gear to show gains in the real world.
If you read my initial posting I said I wanted to show a pre-production prototype fresh of the cnc bender......so give us some time to pull together all the necessary data, and by the time we are giving you a vendor anouncement all info will be there for you to see.
As for the effectiveness of IC bezel......come on...Take a look at the IC it's
position in the grill, size and the aerodynamic plane it's sitting in and you will
agree that nothing has been designed up to this point that will enhance the efficiency of the IC more then the M7 IC Bezel.

We'd like to see the data on the 'great results' promised in the first post....how it looks has little to do with actual improvement unless *bling* was the chief design goal.
you have less data than M7 does PGT, maybe give them a chance before blasting them? They have, in the past, provided data, I have confidence they will do so in this case as well. Sounds like you've got an axe to grind. . .
:weaksauce: reply Peter. I haven't said anything about what I own, plan to own or work on. people ask me for advice...I get dozens of PM's a day in fact. I work on lots of local cars, R56's included. It'd be nice to know if something works before recommending it or installing it on a car. From the looks of it, it would seem to be a useful piece of kit. Proof it flows more isn't hard to obtain....tape an anemometer to backside of the core and do three runs with and three without the bezel.
He said the data was coming
patience.
My statement about you not having data was b/c you implied that this product was "fresh off the hype machine", an implication that its show and not go. To make such a statement without any backing and without giving the vendor a reasonable time frame to provide their own data (it was fresh off the CNC bender on monday!) is irresponsible at best; chief pot-stirrer. . .

sorry....the 'great results' comment implies testing was done. forgive me for asking for the results. the response to that was 'look at it! you can tell how well it works'. From that reply, it shows datalogging wasn't done, so one can base the statements of 'great results' on hype....especially since a reply says 'give us some time'. horse ---> cart
Dude, chill. What is your beef? You don't even have an R56 MCS.
