Thoughts needed

Hi peeps

I'm thinking of upgrading my SC pulley to a 15% reduction, to mate with my 3% oversized crank. Giving a effective 18% type SC combo

Thoughts needed on this set up. I'd prefer a more 'usable' torque/power curve, i make limited revs above 5k, and do a lot of city spirited driving.

Is there any chance that i'll throw codes?

I dont see too much of a possibility of premature wear on the SC as i dont redline or use excessive rpms.

Thoughts please!?!

Also, what kind of power/torque out put could i realistically expect? (given mods listed below)

You will definatly feel the difference. Im not sure on exact gains, but my butt dyno said "****** yeah!" the only other mods i had at the time were the oil catch can, oil cooler, irridium plus/better wires, and my CAI.

You'll like the feel of the setup. It'll make you want JCW injectors and GIAC tuning, though. As far as dyno numbers is concerned, is there a number that will make you happy? Really, this is (relatively) proven setup. If you have the dough, do it and enjoy. I think number-chasers have less enjoyment than those who just enjoy things. JMO

Gday
Thanks for the replies.
I'm In Australia, i dont htink we have GIAC tuning software available? I have found MTH though...
I'm not really chasing numbers, as i've owned and built up a track rx7 that was pretty impressive. Not by any means trying to give the MCS the same treatment, as i want a completely streetable daily, that is a little bit of fun to drive.
Although i would be interested to see what i'm making.

Some have reported issues with crank pulley set ups, i have had my 3% on for just under a year now, i haven't had any issues with idle with or with out the a/c on, and i use it a fair amount... Interesting to hear others have had issues... Interesting note: the OEM crank pulley weighed 2.6kg, and the ALTA weighs in around 0.7kg, i noticed a remarkable difference after changing it, especially when pulling away in low revs in 4th.
