Drivetrain UNICHIP REFLASH FROM 16% TO 17% PULLEY
UNICHIP REFLASH FROM 16% TO 17% PULLEY
I'm thought I'd better make my own post about my question than ride on an old post. Here goes.
I Just bought a Unichip Q with flux from a friend of mine who just recently sold his R53 and bought an R56 and have a question to those who know. My friend had all most the same mods (CAI,exhaust,Hot wires and pulley) with the exception of the size of his pulley. He ran a 16 % M7 where as I have a 17 % pulley. Does anyone know if the Unichip will suffer (in performance) without getting the Unichip remapped with the difference in pulley size ? I'd love to hear from anyone who has dealt with this same issue and has some solid info on this subject. Thanks !

If the Unichip was tuned specifically for your friend's car, then the pulley size difference will be the least of your worries IMO. These cars vary so much that running a map designed for another car is not great.
If on the other hand it was one of those 'canned' tunes from Unichip, I don't see how the 1% pulley size delta will be enough to cause you problems, but neither will it run optimally until you get it tuned on the dyno by someone who knows what they're doing.
Cheers,
Henry

Thanks for your input ! My friend told me it was set up for his mods and I'm sure it was one of there canned tunes. I do plan on some dyno work to fine tune the map.
As for gnatster and hornguys, Congratulations ! your well on your way to the 6th gear club. I know it's hard work searching daily to add a comment or two to anyones post to get to that magic number needed for the 6th gear club. Keep up the good work !
