Drivetrain CAI Filter Performance, (filtering particulates)
CAI Filter Performance, (filtering particulates)
anyone have a good link or reference regarding CAI performance, (comparison's), with regards to how well they filter particulates? Increased air flow improves performance, but does it come at a cost? (allowing more particulates to flow through). OEM (paper) elements get rocked for the lower flows, but they do filter the particulates pretty good. (And I follow a routine replacement schedule with em).
I live in the Southwest, and am interested in a CAI. But very worried about the amount of dust particulates we have here.
Not trying to start a "dust up". For those folks who have CAI's and love em, great!
Just wanting more data.

These filters work extremely well http://www.syntheticwarehouse.com/na...ir_filters.htm ; cleaning them is easy, give it some taps in the palm of the hand to knock off the big stuff and run a vacuum over it for the fine dust.

Yes. I agree
Overall, stay away from oil and cotton gauze if you care about filtering.
