Are you talking about the ALTA one at JSC Speed? If so I can help with that. What exactly do you want to know about it?

Happy to help!

Is the install difficult to do? How long will it take to install this? Is it a simple bolt on?

the bov it self it easy, the part that takes a min is the vacume line to run it. you have to tap and drill a hole in the intake manifold for the line

No, BOV's release the extra pressure that endangers a turbo of surge.

The factory bypass valve does the same. So, the "only" thing you gain is the sound, which a lot of people love to hear on turbo cars.

I'd like to hear a sound clip. BOV's really vary from a "whooosh" to a "cheee" (like the HKS super sequential) sound.

Wow those look nice, but expensive.

Seems the Forge spacer BOV does the same thing for a fraction of the cost and install effort. http://www.forgemotorsport.com/conte...roduct=FMDVMCS

Isn't there some argument against recirculating warm/hot air from the tubo back into the intake track. Granted, it was going there anyway, but anything to cool that air down makes the intercooler's job a little easier.

You do not have to use the recirculating fitting. It comes with the BOV to give you an option.

msh441: There are some differences between them. Including the volume (not sound) that they are able to expell. This goes for the OEM pop-off valve as well. Plus the BOV will continue to be beneficial as we move forward with our cars and start raising boost levels. Also, removing the sound generator can only help further in maintaing pressure within the tube.

Hope that helps!

Is that how the alta brand will sound like? Or is it more of a whistle sound like you hear on almost all honda/acura turbo charged cars? And how long is the estimated install time for these? And difficulty level of installation? I will be ordering one after these questions have been answered.

i think thats the HKS that you refer to, sounds like a bird chirping. I had one, then took the fin out, much better. I imagine the alta by the looks of it will sound more like a woosh of air.

Would I be able to get some Turbo/BOV sound with an intake ? I like the idea of an aftermarket BOV for some sound, but not the drilling-manifold-part ...

IMO, this is the best sounding blow-off valve ever made. Reasonably priced, too. Go here: http://tinyurl.com/2y585l

Do you remove the manifold so you can clear the chips from the drill and tap?

No ducks or turkeys related to the BOV. But there are plenty of turkeys on NAM (waka waka waka!-)
