Drivetrain Do it yourself pulley install
Is there a particular step in Randy's instructions that you're curious about whether or not it's required? I know that some people do the swap without removing the airbox, but considering how much I have to raise the engine to get the pully puller in place, I can't imagine doing it with the airbox still installed without something binding.
Also, I only use one floor jack instead of two. I have three floor jacks, but I've never had any real difficulties getting things to line up with one, so that's all I use.
Most of the other steps in Randy's directions are pretty much mandatory, unless you have one of the pully pullers that lets you remove the pully without first removing the tensioner.

I think he's asking if you can leave the *motor* side engine mount bolts and airbox in place. I've only used the Alta Professional puller, so I don't know about the Mini Madness one.
Although if I had known when I bought the Alta that I'd be doing so many pulley swaps, I think I'd have gone with the MM one, just to be able to leave the tensioner in place.
