Beyond 19% club ( 19%+ ) ( >19% )

Calling all cars!?!? ... With beyond a 19% S/C reduction setup.

I'm now running a 19% with a 3%. And after talking to a few people here and there, it's not as uncommon as I had thought to be running beyond 19%.

Now of course, I'm talking about marketed reductions, so for those who want to show charts about how a whatever % is actually spinning the superchager faster than advertised, know that this is only about those running beyond 19% marketed figures.

Now on to the goods...

The only reason I did this is because I wanted a little midrange monster. And I got it. I dont drive the car at the track, and I never take it beyond 6k rmps. As a street car, I just want my day to day driving to be as responsive as possible. Sure, there are other cars that might do this better, even an R56 was considered, but ultimately, I'm sticking with my R53...

I'm loving this setup. A combination between the lightened crank pulley and the extra boost earlier mean that just a feather of throttle gets the car moving from a stop, and keeps it moving. As contrast to my previous setup with just the 19%, just around town driving is vastly improved. On the highway, forget-about-it! Boost EVERYWHERE. Pass in 6th? Why NOT!

I'll add more as I get some more time with her.

you should do a run on a 1/8th mile dragstrip and see how much power you are accually putting down. plus it might be pretty quick!

Good work.

Any SES lights or codes?

Any aftermarket header?

Any larger injectors? Any custom ECU software?

Any plans to change pulley belt twice a year?

Having these mods are probably fine for use under 6000 rpm and for non track use where heat build up could be an issue at some point.

Let us know if you ever dyno your MINI.

Or if you have any problems.

been running the 19 + 2% crank for 4+ years now.. replace the belt every 2 years. (broke at 2years 4 months (set to replace next month)) I suggest putting on a Tension Limiter to protect all the pulleys on the front of the engine. when the belt blew only the SC Pulley survived.

went to the 380cc JCW injectors and V32 JCW programming. Rest of engine internals bone stock.

I race Autox the SES light will come on due to Over boost at about 6900 rpm like clock work.

Did a dyno run some time ago

Never posted a run I did using my Tire that I autox on (205/50/15) and wiegh in about 15 lbs less each. It avg around 9lbs of torq (190) and 11 whp (218) though the whole range on the dyno
