GP engine support/damper

Just noticed the factory passenger side engine support/damper on the GP:

Is this available to everyone? It would seem to be a step in the direction of reducing failures. There is a bracket which bolts to the strut tower so the engine moves not at all. This seems to be a convenient method which does not interfere with access to pulley belt.

After 12/03, they were all setup like that.
I believe the mounts will still leak/fail even with the design change.

I don't think the mounts leaked before the design change. I haven't heard of any 02's or early '03's with leaky mounts, only after.

The mounts on the 02 and 03 are rubber,
they do not leak, but they come appart,

if your engine mount appears collapsed, it is probably broken,
the strap around the mount keeps in together, even when it is broken.
check yours out

My mini is 1/2003 MCS. The passenger motor mount leaked and so was replaced on warranty on 8/8/06 at 39600mi. My mount is the wrapped rubber kind. Does new one ( a la GP) replace it or can it replace it? Think here I can do away with the TSW style damper.

Yep, I'm taking my '06 in to have the mount replaced as it has leaked.
