mine kept working loose every couple of days. You have to make sure there isn't any "pre-loaded" tension along the length of the tube. check the connection at the MAF, coupling, and filter. After a couple of trys I managed to make it stop working off. No matter how tight I got the clamp, it still worked itself loose until I fixed the rest of the connections.

I haven't checked mine yet but I hope it is not crooked like that.
BTW, get a rear swaybar. I will make the car turn unbelieveably.
So you're saying I may have to adjust the other end of that thing (where it attaches to the filter housing) to keep it from recurring?

I have a rear swaybar (or to be specific, a different rear swaybar. All R56's have rear swaybars). I don't think the car turns any better now that I've straightened out the inlet tube (or whatever that's called).

What made you go with Mach V springs instead of H&R?
About 0.2 inches less drop, price, and not liking to follow the crowd.
OUCH! (Side note: I honestly don't see much if any difference in the drop, and since we are in the ALTA thread I am going to make a plug for the product we carry. The H&R is a known company that has been doing this for MANY decades. They are known for there extremely high levels of quality, R&D, manufacturing principals & techniques, as well as the assembly point for many of bilsteins shocks, OEM applications etc. etc. Having been in the performance aftermarket sine 1996 I have seen so called spring "manufacturers" come and go, but yet H&R is still here. So in addition to running their springs and lowering modules on nearly every car I have owned in the past 7 years, NSX's, M3, Ferrari 360, MINI's, Subaru, Escalade, Mercedes, Honda's Integra Type R, the list goes on, I have never had any complaints with ride quality, performance etc. Plus the liftetime warranty from a known German manufacturer always seals the deal for me. I am glad you are happy with your choice, but in many cases following the crowd can be a VERY good thing. Look at the crowd of monkey's you are in with now that you own a MINI! Not so bad is it?)
Back to the inlet tube, it should not re-occur once it is placed properly. The hose has a notch in it that needs to be lined up with the inlet hose. Then when you put the clamp on be sure the notch in the clamp also lines up with the notch in the hose etc. etc.
Would adding the 19mm rear sway bar to an otherwise stock suspension make sense, or would I be better off with new springs? I'm not looking for a drop, just some increased cornering.

Probably one of the cheapest, most effective ways to improve handling. I just put on an Alta 19mm. You'll notice the difference on the first curve. Also rather easy to install.
It also will not diminish comfort AT ALL (like springs will).

Do you have the factory stock or sport suspension? 18mm to 19mm (sport to alta) doesn't seem like it would make all that much of a difference so I've been leaning towards the 22mm for that reason.

18 to 19mm isn't that big a difference. It's how far from the center of the bar the endlinks mount. The closer you get to the bar the more effect you'll get. If I recall correctly, the Alta 19mm is from 117% to 178% stiffness of stock depending on which hole you mount it in (choice of 3).
Unless you're a pretty good driver, a really stiff bar could be difficult to control, and you'll be chasing your **** end up the road whenever you lift off the throttle in a curve.
