K&N or ALTA panel filter?

Hey guys! Just wondering which filter would be "better", if there's any difference at all. While I would love to change the whole intake to Alta's setup, that's not in the budget right now.

Thoughts?

Hey shameless plug ALTA! Seriously no huge difference other than maybe price. Depends on which camp you end up in foam vs. cotton/gauze. The foam protects the engine a bit better, still maintains high flow, is reusabel, cleanable and comes with an AWESOME red foam black ALTA logo! K&N allows more dirt through, but flows better when clean vs. foam, yada yada ydad.

I hope you choose ALTA, but my feelers won't be hurt if you K&N. Just get my antenna and we will be all better! Welcome to NAM enjoy the car and happy motoring!

I have the Alta panel filter currently and love it
It's a pretty red foam color and Alta logo across it, definately frees up room for more air flow and wayyyyyyyy better than the paper filter you get.
Alta all the way!

hey adam or seal, with the panel remaining in the airbox i assume that there isnt the same increase in turbo noise that is clearly there with the K&N?

Not that I've noticed as it resides in the airbox.
When I upgrade and get the Alta CAI I'm sure I'll hear the wonderful sound everyone hears with their K&N setups.

Any tests yet on the power increase from the Alta panel?
