Need Help Getting Stock Hangers Off!!!

Hi!!!! I need help getting the stock hangers off of the exhaust...I cannot get the nub through for the LIFE of me...any suggestions? I read the how-to and tried the WD-40 + Channelock, and I also called a MINI technician and they use the same way, but I CANNOT get it through. I need help ASAP because I am leaving tomorrow on vacation for a week...my MINI currently has no exhaust on it so I can't drive it anywhere!

Thanks for any help!
-Cody

Jam a large screw driver into the hole and pry.

I tried that to, it just won't go through! The only thing I can think to do is cut the mount part...

No. Don't cut it.
Just keep after it.

Try to insert a screw driver through the hanger hole along side the hanger itself and pry. This will help to enlarge the hole.

Also, did you disconnect the exhaust from the cat yet? Disconnecting from the cat and the front exhaust bracket will help give you some more wiggle room.

I had my Magnaflow installed a couple of weeks ago and took it to a muffler shop...charged me $75.00 for install. But, he was a gorilla and used lots of WD40 and Channel locks. Took some effort but he did it!

If there is a next time, a quick spritz with wd-40 and the use of locking pliers worked great for me. Just have one side of the pliers on the rubber hanger, one side on the hanger with the rib....and you should be able to just squeeze it right off.....

To remove exhaust hangers

Worked for me a couple, three or four times. Lots of WD-40, some big A$$ Channel locks, choice cuss words (like your mad at it) and hold your tung just right.

Love that Magnaflow All the rest are just pretenders
