I'm super happy with the TSW damper I put on. It really makes the car a lot easier and smoother to drive without all the jerkyness it had stock. I'm running it with one turn more preload than it was delivered with. There is no extra NVH except for in some slow parking lot situations where the clutch is partially engaged for a second.

Has anyone tried this one?... http://vipcustomparts.com/minicooperparts.htm

Don't know if I would try that one! Some engine movement is needed and I would think that thing would put too much stress on the frame. The dampers just take the majority of the movement out.

I've had a somewhat similar concern about this mod-mostly thinking about what might occur in a frontal impact with this device in place. Could it prohibit the engine/tranny from breaking away as MINI engineers intended? Has anyone with one of these installed had a frontal collision? (And lived to post about it?)

My guess, If the car had a accident and smashed the front the damper is not that stout. It gonna crumble or break away too. I think I don't want to dwell on an accident while in the Mini , modded or otherwize but ,hey its better than a bike

Good queston. Does anyone know if the factory engine / tranny mounts are different from a MCS on the JCW and GP cars?
