Ever since I put my Magnaflow in my MC I have noticed that the pick up is not as fast as the stock exhaust. Is this because my intake is still stock so its not putting enough air to the exhaust? Maybe Randy can elaborate on this...

Ants, you have a CVT, right? I think Harmini had a similar issue with her aftermarket exhaust on her car.

I have the CVT and put a REMUS exhaust on and I know the HP increased. I get up to speed faster and when I go to pass someone I really fly by them.

It's all about backpressure.

In a naturally aspirated car like the Cooper, you want some backpressure. But in a forced induction car like the Cooper S you want little backpressure. Sounds like the Magna for the Cooper has too little backpressure and is causing torque losses.

This is commonly seen in the ricer crowd when someone takes a stock NA Civic and puts a big fat exhaust on it with 3" pipes meant for a turbo application. The result is a catastrophic loss of backpressure resulting is hefty torque losses and hp decrease.

Yeah but you would think that wouldnt be an issue considering this magnaflow was made specifically for the Cooper.

Not necessarily...not EVERY product created is a great product or even a better one than it is meant to replace...
