Drivetrain question about...
I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure they only have/need one intercooler. Twin turbos are used to help eliminate turbo lag. One turbo is small so it spools up quicker giving more low end power. But since it is smaller, overall boost is not too high and doesn't give a lot of boost at higher speeds. So a larger turbo is also included that gives very little low end power b/c it takes a while to spool up but when it does, look out b/c it will provide max boost b/c of its size.
It's just plumbing. If its a V or boxer engine, and you have turbo on each side, then it may be easier or better to have 2 intercoolers. It's more a matter of good plumbing, and finding room and some cool air. There is no hard rule.
