Need track pads...any recommendations?

I am going to VIR next weekend and thought I would take the MINI. I currently run Hawk HT10 on my M3. I don't think HT10 are available for the MINI. I did a search and relly didn't find much. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Justin

Wilwood "C" compound are my favorite, but unfortunately they're not available for stock MINI calipers.

Perhaps the Ferodo 3000's for stock calipers would be ok, but I have no experience with those, or the Porterfields. I did run Ferodo 2500's and they faded pretty quick, but not near as quick as stock!

I haven't used either of these firsthand, but people I know have used the Carbotechs and like them.

(Performance Friction 97 or Carbotech XP10/XP9, some people have mentioned XP8 for the rear instead of 9)

I'm pretty sure that HT-10's are available for the MINI along with pretty much everything else in the Hawk line. You didn't mention, are you OK with swaping pads at the track, or are you looking for something streetable at the same time? Are you running R-tires?

pads

After racing on Carbotechs for many years including a Mini I was recently given a set of Cobalt friction's pads to try on my current race car(06 civic SI) and they made quite a difference. Especially in pedal feel and initial bite. They're compounds are lightyears ahead of what others are doing right now. Check'em out or give Glenn(one of the owners) a call.

Don't forget to use higher quality brake fluid- ATE super blue or better.

I'll add a vote for Ferodo DS2500's. I've run them at Beaverun with litlte to no fade (it was October. Maybe that helped). They make a good autox pad and do decently on the street with moderate noise/dust. I'd definately buy them again.

I've found that the EBC Yellows are just as good as the Mintex 1155s I was running for a lot less.
