Drivetrain Craven Speed Short Shift Kit
I just got mine in the box this past Saturday. Waiting for next week to roll around so the shop can have it put in. The only negative about this place I go to is their timing or lack thereof. It allways seems they put me in about a week out. I can never get my time in the same week with them so I have the parts here sitting in my bedroom for yet another week after having to wait about 2.5 weeks for all my mod parts to arrive.
I installed my Craven speed SS with the help of a friend that had done a short shifter before. Right after installing it, I found that I could only move the shifter about a half an inch
. I discovered that I needed to take the lid off the bottom of the cable box so that the shifter could be adjusted up and down more than a half an inch. So a few weeks later I went back under. I again had to disconnect the exhaust from the header and remove the heat shield that runs the length of the exhaust to get to the cable box lid. Not fun !
The heat shield has about 12 or so nut's that need to be taken off to free it and then it takes some doing to get it loose and out of the way.
again not fun !
I spoke to Kellen at Craven speed about the lack of directions and he agreed with me that they could be revised a bit. I really love this mod. I've got the shift hight set just right. Not too tall, not too short. I really made a big difference (to me). Adding a Whalen shift machine to the SS really added to an already great product. At this past AMVIV event I added the Craven speed shift well cover and Kellen was kind enough to install it for me on the spot. (thanks Kellen).
