Drivetrain So Cal Mod shop
So Cal Mod shop
Hope I picked the right place to post this... can anyone point me in the direction of a good local Sothern California shop to get work done/future mods etc? I have seen a few shops around but I dont want to cross my fingers while dropping off my MINI
Thank you all!

Thank you all!
Highly recommend Danny at MiniCorsa in Van Nuys
I have always gone to Steve's Auto Clinic (North Hills) because of the great prices and fast service/installs, and Johnny's in San Pedro once (kinda far for me), but I do want to try out MINICorsa in Van Nuys because I think they stock products as well the other places you have to order your parts or bring them yourself.
Steve has been doing the work on my car since sept of 02. He is capable of doing anything from a simple oil change with the same OIL BMW uses to building the only Mini in the US to take a podium finish in a series as prestigious as the US Turing Car Championships. He can do 4 wheel alignments for those suspension mods on site as well as complete engine builds. SAC has been the " home " for Emile of Vitesse Pro the Dim Sport expert and can handle any ECU tuning needs as well. There are 2 or 3 well attended " Install Parties " every year and never less than 4 to 6 minis being worked on at any one time. Do give him a call you can't go wrong. Tell him I sent you

EF1 in Signal Hills is another shop that knows Mini Coopers. I just had some work done and was very happy with the work. Fabrizio actually did the work. His shop is super clean and organized. He was telling me that he could be doing more work on Minis however he was focusing on maintenance instead of modding Minis. He felt that modding opened him to issues of liability. Anyways, if you need some basic work on your Mini EF1 is another good option.
Maxmini mentioned that Steves uses BMW oil, I can verify that because the last time I was there they had a delivery and I saw a 55 gallon drum of the stuff.

Another good option that is close to you is Scientific Automotive in Pasadena. Many MINI owners have been very satisfied with the high quality work at that shop.

The other sites that have been mentioned are also very good, but a bit farther to travel.
Good luck...

looking at that picture, how long is the wait in getting on his waiting list. Guy's sitting in camp chairs barbecuing, playing cards,
.
I have personally been to Scientific Automotive and Mini Corsa. Steve's also has a great reputation. Anyone of these shops will do great work. You will have to check them out and see who is going to do what you need for the best price.
