I've had mine back for a couple of weeks. I also have the head, header and catback. It runs great. A lot of TQ. I haven't had time to get it dynoed yet. They tried to dyno it, but the dyno broke and wouldn't get a signal. I'll try again next week.

Ok, Here's a quik update. the head, header, port matched intake manifold and exhaust are on ripper and and all I can say is what a waste of money!!!!!!!!!!!

Juuussst kidding It's not tuned and it still has stock injectors but it feels a lot stronger. I don't know if it feels 39 hp stronger, but it's definitely stronger. I will be dynoing Ripper on the tenth to see how much I've gained now and then again after GIAC finally finishes the tune and lets Jan know what size injectors I need. I can't wait to feel the finale hp

FWIW.... mine has been on for a few weeks..... we found that the Milltek exhaust while great for cars under 200whp is too restrictive for the RMW head and the M62..... we pulled the Milltek off from the resonator back and picked up 15 whp and 5 ft lb.

next week a Mmagnaflow goes on and the week after is the trip to LDG for John's tune..... it should be a pretty nice ride when all is done..... The tune is the key to getting everything out of these great parts.....

shortly after the return comes the clutch/FW and Quaiffe

There is no doubt this head does some magical things

I'm sure it is...... right out of the box for the 02.... Juston was going to build a custom unit .... and still might but I wanted to try Jan's recomendation first..... If it does not work out I can sell it and go to Juston's..... (Custom Metal Concepts, the guy that custom made my header.) There is a trade off with sound pressure level and power and I am told the Magnaflow is not too bad.....

I've had my magna for 3.5 years now and I love it. And you will be very surprised that the noise level is also not as loud as some make it out to be. In fact, Invidia and Borla sound very similar to it and are as loud as Magna.

Anyway, I have spoken to Jan when I was thinking about going with their header and he did recommend the Magna, it fits right in to their headers. I have since decided to go with OBX however, I know I know,,not the best product but best bang for the buck and secondly, the fiinances weren't there to afford Jan's .

The OBX will wet your whistle..... Jan's header from a construction point of view is pretty amazing.... the guys that own them are thrilled with the performance.... Hey I still am operating with the stock clutch and no Quaiffe.... $s do matter..... you save for the header, and I'll save for the clutch/FW/Quaiffe....

The one you have is the old style Magnaflow.

Here is the new design used with RMW's headers

Hmmmm, looks like I might be making some modifications to the old Magnaflow if I get the header. With four parts, Y pipe, two 90's, and spacer it would be pretty close to the new style. Of course the resonator would have to come back too.

As I understood it when Jan told me there isn't going to be too much of modding the magna I have to fit their header. In any case, I think it's irelevant at this point for me but thought I share the info with Spider.

The only thing you would have to do to fit the new header would be to move the resonator back or just remove it since Jan's header is longer than stock. I was just looking at the improved design of the new Magnaflow and thinking about how to adapt it to the original design. I'm guessing it could all be done for less than $100 labor plus the parts.

That's pretty much what Jan told me or something very similar to that. I'm not sure if I like the new design however, it seems to have lots of bends after the mufflers.

Hi Spider,

I always just assumed you had a clutch/flywheel and LSD. How has the stock clutch help up to all that TQ?? Has it been tough to drive without an LSD?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm driving up to MiniCorsa in the morning to but in a new RMW/Clutch Master clutch/Flywheel and an LSD. I'm amazed you havn't killed that clutch with the TQ you have.

OK, I went to the dyno today and like I promised I am sharing the info.

first let me say that the last time I dyno'd my car at this shop was Oct 06 and the temp. was 70 degrees. The car out down 186.6hp 166.3 tq. Today it was 95 degrees and 90% humidity. that being said, heres what happened.

1st run 203.5 hp 170tq. sprayed the dfic with cold water and let sit for ten minutes.

2nd run 203.1 hp 170 tq. dfic was heat soaked so I sprayed with lots of cold water and let sit with fans on it for about an hour.

3rd run 205.8 hp 170.2 tq. Total hp gain 19.2 Total tq gain 3.9

called Jan to let him know the results and he asked what plugs I was running and when I told him stock he that the car must have been pulling timing because I should be running colder plugs. he is shipping them out to me today. Well at least I know my but dyno is pretty good as I posted earlyer that it didn't feel like 39hp.

I wil install the new plugs when they get here and try to dyno again on a 70 degree day to get a better delta.

I thing i find the most confusing(sp?)is how I can gain 19 hp and only 4ftlbs tq?

I have been told I would cook the clutch for a few years now but it is fine...... and, I NEVER do a drag strip style launch... or power shift.... mostly baby the clutch... no LSD is a problem coming out of tight corners at 5K spins the inside wheel for a long time.....

when the car comes back from LDG I will put in the clutch/FW/Quaiffe

You probably don't want to hear this but the numbers you got are right in line with a chart that was posted by Helix earlier this year.

.

yeah they are inline with the Helix #'s but the only problem with that is Helex uses a mustang which is known to read lower then the dynojet 248c that I have been using since I started modding my car

Helix's car had a 33whp delta,
John's had a 19hp delta with 25 degrees warmer day and much more humidity. It will be good to get a better comparison.

Email me the dyno sheets please. Thanks
