Drivetrain Miltek Exhaust
Miltek Exhaust
Guys! A couple of months ago I started a thread trying to decided on exhaust systems. I decided on the Miltek. Finally, after forever being on backorder my system arrived. Everything was installed today and it sounds and feels great. One problem, it's not straight. The tips are off center (slightly left if you are standing behind it) and are almost touching the plastic liner running under the car on that left side. I crawled underneath with the mechanic as he showed me there was nothing he could do. The only solution seemed to be longer brackets on the mufflers or heating the tips and manually pointing them where we want them to go. Anyone had this problem, and if so, what did u do???
Mine was also crooked. It leaned to the passenger side. It took some "motivating" of the outside hangers on the two mufflers with a rubber mallet, to make the exhaust sit properly. Now, it sits wonderfully centered, and has ever since I installed it over a year ago.

You may just need to bend the hangers a bit to compensate for the exhausts' tendency to want to lean to one side of the car, that's all.
Also, make sure it isn't touching the plastic of the rear air dam. That could melt it after a long or spirited drive...

I had this problem as well. However, I had mine installed by a guy who does custom exhausts. He had to heat up the pipes behind the tips, once they get hot enough they are easier to bend. He then bent the pipe using leverage from a pry bar. I watched him do it and he adjusted the tips to line up perfectly. Hope this helps.
I went through exhaust install hell a few weeks ago. I basically bought an exhaust that I knew would not fit quite right (cabrio), but it turned out to be worse than I thought. The place did an awesome job and it looks great now- and there are some things you can do... heat and bend the piping coming right out of the mufflers (right near the muffler), cut the piping after the Y to make the tips come closer together, cut/heat the hangers.
My install was worse then yours by the sound of it- but these are some ideas.
