Understood - my comment was not meant as an endorsement.

There are many threads and reviews out there on his products and service. This is a vendor with a track record in other communities. My suggestion is that before someone plunks down their hard-earned cash on some mods and a tuner, that they take a couple of days and read the threads, spot the trends (good or bad) and make an informed choice.

My Evo tuner was a ***** who tuned the car safely and effectively. He also stands by his products 100% and was very accessible. In light of his talents and his business ethic, his personality meant nothing. If Shiv can deliver the same level of product efficacy and excellence and be charming to boot.....

I wouldn't expect you to know my experience, especially since you just signed up to NAM. I have been building, modifying, and tuning hot-rods and modern performance cars all my life. Let's just say you were preaching to the choir, where the preacher is new to the church and the choir has been around for many years. No hard feelings.

I agree, a piggyback isn't a perfect solution. That said, when it's designed well, and the factory ECU is tolerant, it's an acceptable and effective solution. To build on that, just because someone writes an ECU flash doesn't mean it's quality programming. It's just not that black and white. When Vishnu is finished with the PROcede for the R56, we'll take a look at it, and see for ourselves if it's an acceptable and safe solution. Until then, there's no need to whip up a panic storm and poison the well.

Regards,
Ryan

What would be nice is a map selector that you have in your car that allows you to switch between maps that you have stored.

You could wire up a simple circuit to switch maps in the XEDE. So I would be really surprised if you are not able to do that with the PROcede.

Hey guys,

We are still working on it over here. We wont keep you in the dark.

Here is the Vishnu helpful tip of the day: Make sure your dipstick is pushed all the way down. Because the MINI's EGR system is tied into the intake system, having the dipstick loose can cause all sorts of funny little issues. We found out the hard way that having it unseated, even a small amount, will cause quite a few boost related trouble codes.

Good to know!

Any hints at all as far as approximate HP or ETA for the PROcede?

Man, I don't even have my R56 yet, and I get all worked up. Count me in on this. Don't really mind being one of the first one to test this out. Hell, I was the one of the first in CA to have a full Cosworth Stage 2 Focus when they came out with upgrades for my car. Anything yet????

I have Utec Delta for my wrx which controls boost, fuel, and timing. It is a hybrid between a piggyback and a standalone. I love it. All have to do is plug my laptop to it and I can pick up readings from my ecu and can tune it to my liking. It also has a map selector switch that you can select from 9 maps that you have stored. Total price $1000 but worth every penny.

I wonder if there are problems? It seems to be talking MUCH longer than anticipated.
