yea I know what you mean. everywhere I look, its top mount, I don't know why no one sells the front mount. But I have seen them on some Minis.

im pretty sure the ones with the FMIC have either been turbo'd or extremely modded. and are mosy likely one off's. i could be wrong but i thinkt heres a few people running around with prototype ones. something about carbon fiber and cracking...did NOT go into production....could be wrong my .02

yeah its a HUGE mod and requires a lot of pimping and fabraction. a few have gone that route, and im sure will chim in at some time, but its pricy and you better be pushing some huge #'s to even need it.

Cost is a huge factor in making a front mount. if i could have one made at a fair price i would so i can complete my OEM minus conversion

Webb motorsports used to sell one.

It was insanely expensive, like $2500. And was said to be INSANELY loud!

The only reason people have invested into front mount intercoolers is because they converted to a turbo only set up or twincharge. Any way it is very expensive and takes a lot of labor (extensive modification and long hours of labor). If you find yourself wanting to do this any way I believe that most people use an intercooler that has been made by either Greddy, HKS, Perrin Performance, etc... and fabricate the plumbing to fit the mini's engine bay. Just make sure you buy one that fits neatly where ever you place it. You are probably looking at somewhere in the $2,000.00 range if not more.

- Maybe this money would be better invested into a turbo kit (the twin charge kind, turbo only set ups will run you a cool $8,000.00+) look into Alta's twin charge kit, Fireballed, Helix, and I am sorry if I forgot anyone, but those come to mind the quickest... Plus this will get you wel into the 250+whp (watch it though cause if you get to high into the boost you will need forged pistons, maybe a smart investment any way if you are going to spend the money)...The FMIC will provide up to 50 hp if used with a turbo(or twincharge) set up.

Tuls runs a FMIC with a TC setup. One off though. Not a production item. Other FMIC options were the Webb and there is the GTT. Anything else is air to water for turbo conversions
