Drivetrain Alta intake help for MCSa
Alta intake help for MCSa
Hey guys, just got the intake with blue silicone hose for my MCSa today. So I start the install. Dismantling went well just having a problem reinstalling. Here goes....
The box itself looks like it will fit fine. I put the lower box with the "ram" pipe in without using any inlet hoses to see if the box would line up with the holes, it goes fine. The problem is the silicone hose. There are two fittings into it. But when the hose is installed the upper connection, connection B in my picture, the line running from connection D to the brake booster area will be braced up against the intake box.
I had called and got a great explaination of how the supplied fitting solves this problem, but I got confused putting it in. I know the fitting has nothing to do with connection A in my picture. I called back, but must have left for the day. Does the supplied fitting involve connection E perhaps?
Another little problem I had was the silicone hose was braced up so much against the "ram" piping that it didn't allow the box to sit all the way down onto the lower airbox portion. I'm hoping once I use the supplied fitting it will fix everything.
Thanks!

I have a 6-speed, but I'll try to help anyway.... That looks to me like a union between the little inlet on the silicone hose and connection A or B. The intake that fits the manual only has one inlet, and I used the factory union (that looks like the thing you're holding there) make the connection. It was a pain in the neck to install, at least for me. I've only done one other intake before and this was twice as hard...but I'm a newb. Hope this helps...
