Drivetrain I'm not a virgin anymore!
I'm not a virgin anymore!
After 5 years of ownership I finally did some work on the car myself. The dealer said I needed a brake job ($950!!!!) so.... after checking the rotors I ordered some EBC greenstuff pads from Helix and did them myself. I originally planned to start with the fronts and then move to the back, but since I wanted to rotate the tires I ended up doing side to side. I knicked a knuckle on the emergency brake cable, so now I have sweat AND blood into her. The only difficulty I encountered was with pushing the rear pistons in. I knew you had to rotate and push in, but I didn't know which way and whether to push and turn, push then turn or what. All of a sudden they just started going in. The backs took about an hour each, the fronts maybe 5 minutes each. I also used the opportunity to wash the inside of the wheels. Kudos to OCTANE GUY for his how to. I knew what I needed before I started and he saved me a lot of time. I'll probably get new rotors in a couple months, maybe a brake upgrade (I'd like red calipers) to go with my new 19% pulley. I want to get some sheet aluminum from Home Depot and make a CAI. Anyway, now that I gave it up I don't know why I waited so long to get my nails black again. Last time was an MGB restoration back in 1980. Time flies.
Kudos to you for taking the plunge into the modding frenzy.
Once you start, you just can't stop. Hope that you mod plenty and drive even more. This summer is going to bring me even deeper into the modding community.

Oh and deeper into my wallet.
