Barber Motorsports park May26-27th

I'm going with some of my Tarheel BMW buddies to Barber Motorsports park for Memorial day weekend. Beautiful facility and well maintained. Has anyone been there in a MINI? I've watched a few videos but I'd like to hear from a fast MINI driver that's been there if there's one out there. Better yet come join us. My buddies are all bringing there M cars on trailers. Not so much an option for me. None of us have been there. It's far from Charlotte but I want to expand my track experience beyond VIR, Road ATL, CMP and the speedway here in town.

I've been told that you get charged for messing up the grass there.

I believe there will be a few from Atlanta. I was originally trying to go but I have a conflict now.......plus it's my anniversary.

I've been on that track in a classic Mini but not real fast. I've heard that it's $1500 minimum for an off track excursion that hits the grasss but I don't know how true it may be. I was watching a bit of video from fall with a group there (PBOC, maybe?) and a student's Lotus, driven by an instructor with the student in the passenger seat, took an off.

It is a beautiful, fabulous facility with sculptures in the in the landscaping in the middle of the track. The museum is great too.

I was at that PBOC event, the instruction that went off track was the guy I had. You pay for what you hit but I don't think it is as expensive as posted. I've done the track twice, but would not call myself a fast MINI yet.

See you there.
