Driving School...
I really want to go to driving school, but One of the biggest problems, is I never know when they are available. Would it be worth it to drive to vegas for the weekend to go to the phil wicks school? thats 850 miles. The problem is that, I can get a flight from here that costs 80 bucks
. Maybe I should stop being a baby and go?

Have you looked into BMWCCA? Any of these chapters near you?

not sure yet, not doing any engine mods quite yet. I really wanna see where the car is before I start such things. And honestly, I haven't tapped the full potetial of the car yet. The only 2 things that will be done however are the MTH software and the alta cai. Other than that I'm going to sit back until I can start getting the true feel of this baby

Don't be thinking to much about racing quite yet Flyn'. You should get at least a good 10-20 track days, DEs, in this year before you then do racing school. It's just a good idea, though I know some that jump right into it.
Just take the mod thing slow. Spend the money on as many DEs as you can this year. Learn what really is working for others and also just what mods are allowed in different classes. You'll find that most classes that the Mini is eligible for allow very few mods to be done. You could end up spending $5K on mods that are no good to you in the future.

Yah, the "basic" mods had to get done on the car right now though. That's been the biggest problem I see. I think I'm sitting at about 2k right now in some parts that I have listed below. It's been heck trying to get the car to a "good feeling" and I think I'm close. From here on out, I'm going to be doing as many DE's as I can. I don't plan on getting my licence until like next january. And from the looks of the NASA costs I can pretty much hit those de's for a reasonable cost $150 per day. I think that's pretty reasonable and I should be able to get lots of time. There looks like there is one every month. After that, I'll see how it goes, I'm really looking forward to this.
