How Many Track Days?
OC,
do you want to do New Jersey Motorsports Park, Thunderbolt and Lightning, two courses in September 13-14. Approx 2 hours (4 1/2 hour sessions) each day. This track is in south NJ.

Hopefully I can squeeze it in, I'm always up for a drive.
Mark
Hope you can make it.
115 on the back straight at WGI seems a little slow
Besides, I'd rather be passing Vets than pointing them by
Yes, I do point them by, eventually. Ya know, thar's a lots to do when driven a caaar. I can't be stickin' my arm out the window every two seconds, now can I?

Eddie,
Just take your time and learn to control the car. Things will become slow motion eventually. At WOT, you will look at the sky, clouds, check out the track, watch the traffic, look for wildlife that wandered onto the track i.e. turtles; when you get to the corner, you look at the bored corner workers, sometimes they are drinking water, day dreaming, sitting with their legs up etc... When you get to the slow motion state, then you are ready for power.
Are you coming to NJ in September with SCDA?

There was a turtle on pit straight at Monticello in May. I thought about stopping for a millisecond or two, then common sense overcame my natural instinct to save every living creature. Next lap around it had been smashed.
Regarding corner workers, there's one old guy at Lime Rock stationed under the bridge just before the downhill. I swear the guy is napping 95% of the time.

There was this one corner worker that always wore a hat. Every lap he just looked out at the track. Then one lap I saw he took off his hat and he was bald! I was smiling all the way around the corner.
How you notice all these little things when you are in a car really moving.

Ya, I saw a few of those flagger guys at WGI. They just wanted me to let the Vets pass
and it seemed like I was in slow motion when they did
. But the Man has a plan. But, yes, Obi wan, back to the classroom.
Right now, no on the NJ. I am planning to do the 9/24 Monticello thing with SCCA. That will probably be it for this season. Heading to Savanah just after that.

When you going to Savannah? I'm assuming Roebling Road?
OMG, that is TOO funny. That's EXACTLY what happens. I remember my first few track days and the instructor asked later how many corner workers were working?
Corner workers? There were corner workers???
Now, I'll see them reading magazines, sleeping with their feet up...lol. Didn't even realize there were corner workers before...

Savanah is just a road trip in Mid-October to see the old town, eat lots of food and make up points with the wife for all the track days I've been on. 2nd time there. This will be in the wife's '04 Just'a Mini-a. She won't let me take it on the track.
However, it did make it onto LRP for 8 laps or so with no pace car on a Memorial day parade lap a few years back. VV was there too I think. I hit ~80 on the front; scared the cr** out of the wife in the esses - we went through 2 by 2. What a blast
I guess that was really my first track event. I was impressed at how well her car did so I went and bought myself the S

You really need to go.

Roebling can be on the radar for next year along with Calabogie and Mt Tremblant. Depends on whether I make a second go at retirement!
We can probably convince s-driver to go. I am not sure about home bound VV.

OH YEAHHH... It's been a while since I've done Road Atlanta.
Of course, this weekend, I'm going to MTTS cruise from Charlotte to Atlanta and we'll do a parade lap on Road Atlanta's track. (BORING but still at least it'll be fun)
