HPDE insurance
I got my track insurance from Furman Motorsports Insurance. Its an annual policy, as I attend 10+ events a year so annual policy is less work on my part. The deductible on my policy is $2k. Underwriter is Lloyd of London...don't get better than Lloyd.

The lockton policy listed above is more suitable for the casual HPDE person. It is an event by event policy instead of a year long policy.
I used them to insure my 2002 Boxster s for a weekend HPDE with Chin at Homestead. Agreed value was $25K, $1K deductible. With all fees I think it was $156 for the whole weekend.
Lockton is one of the largest brokerages in the world (no affiliation), so I wouldn't worry to hard about getting the claims paid. The guy running the program tracks a BMW and has been for a long time, so he understands the DE thing well.

HPDE Insurance Program
This thread was just brought to my attention. This is Ryan Staub from the HPDE Insurance Program. I've been involved in this hobby for about 8 years and I'm currently the Chief Instructor for the Kansas City BMW Club. In addition to instructing and organizing DEs, I do some SCCA racing in my E30 325i.
We designed this program with the typical enthusiast in mind. Here are just a few highlights that you all should know about:
- Agreed value policy with an option to insure your modifications
- Coverage is included at no additional charge for a 2nd driver, and your vehicle is covered while your instructor is driving
- Policies are purchased in online in about 5-10 minutes
- Deductible is 5% or a $1,000 minimum
- Claims under our program will not be reported to your standard insurer, and they will not effect your driving history (which effects your standard insurance premium)
If you have any questions about our program, please don't hesitate to contact me at rstaub (at) locktonaffinity (dot) com.

Hooked on Driving sent me a note about your program last year, I signed up for one event. Now I notice you're no longer listing any of their events as covered.
I emailed one of the contacts at WSIB and the rough cost is 3% of the car value per year. I decided to ask for a quote.
Last year Mark was driving a Radical. I think he had just started up with it; I couldn't quite tell if the look on his face was a grin of unfettered joy or an expression of sheer terror. Maybe a combination of both...
Ryan - you left out my favorite highlight.
When you insure your car for the weekend with Lockton-Affinity, you can name a second driver. Not only that, if you are being instructed, and your instructor drives the car -- the instructor and the second driver are included on this policy.
WSIB is great - if you are a track junkie attending many DEs throughout the year. But if you are looking for a more affordable option for the about 6 or less DEs you do a year - Lockton-Affinity just might be for you.
We use it for the Dark Side. And I'm starting to feel like one of their spoke persons. I won't let our car out on the track without it...

No terror, well until driving on a damp track at Blackhawk Farms on slicks. We are ordering some rain tires!Dark Side makes a good point. It seems anyone doing more then 4-5 events annually is better off with an annual policy like WSIB offers. We suggested to WSIB to offer a program to cover say five or less events annually. They are looking into it, but no word yet.

I got the quote back. For up to 10 events in Shawn, they want $1000 (plus $187 of fees and taxes). If I were doing 10 events that's be a bargain, but I'm only planning 2-3 events a year, and probably not worth it. Having said I was planning 2-3 a year, we've done 3 events in 4 months and I'm already signed up for 2 more. It would have been a bargain if I'd started it last October.
I looked very carefully through our car policy. The only exclusion I can see is for "racing or a timed event". The HPDEs I've been to are not racing, and are not timed, so I think I'll ride on the regular policy for now.
The only problem then is I've heard companies can get a little annoyed if you do make a claim for HPDE. If I don't make a claim, they'll never know, if I do the worst they can do is cancel the policy.
