Limerock Apr-20th Question

I'm off to Limerock for my first track day and was wondering if anybody could shed some light on aftermarket exhausts and how loud they are.

I have a UCC exhaust and it's pretty loud.....also have an intake, 15% but no other mods that would affect the noise level.

From scda1.com's FAQ section, it says the following:

Sound limits at NHIS and Watkins Glen are 99 decibels, and the sound limit at Lime Rock Park is 89 decibels.
Anybody been turned down because of their aftermarket exhaust being too loud?

I've never seen anyone taken out of an event, and there have been some very loud cars. They have the sensor somewhere on the track (I've heard it's at the top of the uphill), but I've never seen it or heard anything about it.

I guess it all depends on the track & how they feel about their neighbors. Worst case scenario, find out where sound control is located & lift when you go by. My best guess is that they don't even bother with sound readings for a school.
Don't worry about it you will be fine.

If you are too loud at LRP you will be black flagged and given another chance to pass. They are very strict. If you can't pass you can't drive. Track rules not SCDA. That said, I've never seen a Mini black flagged for noise.

Don't know what kind of tail pipe(s) you have but you may be able to go to an autoparts store and buy those cheap screw on tail pipes that make a 90 degree turn. When you direct the sound down to the pavement it helps a lot.

I'll be there but not in the Mini as the weather is supposed to be beautiful.
