Audi Club DE at Barber?

I'm considering the Audi DE at Barber in November. I know this is early, but with kids in school, our own dog training business, etc I need to start getting fall plans going now.
I've only been to one DE, with the BMW club at Road Atlanta. I REALLY enjoyed it and loved all of the instructors (classroom and track) and was very impressed with how safety conscious the entire staff, and thereby attendees, were.
Does anyone have any insight into Audi schools? How do they compare to BMW schools(my only reference at this point)?
I've also considered the Phil Wicks, but at this point the closest is in Kershaw SC which is about a 6 hour drive and is considerably more expensive. I can justify one or the other (price or time) but not both, so not this year.
Thanks all,
Annette

Annette -

I've been involved with the Chicago Chapter of the Audi Club for years and I'd say that the ACNA runs just as good a school as the BMW club. I've not been to the Barber school, but a bunch of fellow Chicago instructors drove down last November and said it was an excellent event.

I'm entertaining the notion of heading down this year. We'll see...

Annette,

Jump at ANY chance you can get to drive on the track at Barber! It is one of the best anywhere! Let me know when you come to town and I'll come watch you if I don't drive myself!

I can't say anything about AUDI DE events though, as I have only done BMWCCA ones. . .

I don't know anything about the Audi club, but I would go to Barber if given the choice.

Last fall I ran the Wicks DE at Kershaw and really liked the track and event, but this year I did a DE at Barber and it was fantastic. The track is more fun than Kershaw, and the facility is world class. You won't have to pit in a gravel parking lot like Kershaw and you have a nice 3-story tower to hang out and watch from.

It would be great to have a Mini event there, but it takes a big commitment to put on a event. I hear something like 15k just to rent the track for a day, plus other expenses.
