My 18'' rims with 215-35-18 tires are virtually the same diameter as my stock 15'' rims and tire size.. So smaller rim might be less weight, but you have to pay attention to total diameter of tire regardless of rim size. It's not like back in the day where everything was 15'' rims and then you could go 50, 60, 70 series tire for height, and total diameter..
