2003 MCS Bone Stock - 16.39

first time I ever did the 1/4, so im not too disappointed in the time.

although, shouldnt I be able to get in the 15s with a stock MCS? Whats a good completely stock, stock tires, etc run?

time slip info:

60ft = 2.849
1/8 = 10.867
1000ft = 13.870
1/4 = 16.395
MPH = 88.83

any pointers? thanks

You can do a lot better.. Basically all I can offer is, work on the launch, don't worry about anything else. If you can get your 60ft times down to about 2.0 flat, then you're going to see much better times..

Traction is always the biggest hurdle with these cars. A bone stock '03 MCS should be able grab mid 15's. I have an 05 and went 15.3 stock but the gearing is different. I know in an 05-06 14's are achievable stock, just have to practice and get traction.

Your mph shows you are good for a mid 15 second run with a better launch and some practice...

It really depends on how well the track is prepped at the time you are racing. If you are not slipping at 3k then try bumping it up to 4k. Get out of the hole as hard as you can then just worry about shifting before the rev limiter. I launch my 05 around 4k sometimes I get good traction sometimes not, depends on the day. Practice will tell you what RPM to launch from.

wow, that's bad...16's...i would have wanted to trade my car in after that. I think what maximusmini is saying is correct...because in all of the magazines I have seen times that range as high as 15.9 in the 1/4 to as low as 14.8 in the 1/4...stock.

A lot has to do with the driver, that's true. You need to be brave when you launch that sucker. And you're racing, so you got to get on it hard.

Wow, 16's, that's bad. I think I'll just keep on thinking that my Mini is fast and not take it to the track. I don't want to be dissapointed like that. Heck, the average sports car out there is running in the high 14's now...its even common place for high 13's in some cases...16's, I think I would have lost my lunch.

Good luck and you might want to think about dropping a 572 crate motor in there from chevrolet if things don't get better....hehehehehe.

Im scared to go to. Seeing all these 16s are starting to scare me. You guys need to learn how to drive. The cooper s is definitely a mid 15 sec car. It should be that hard to get that.
