great!
Then that proves that the tires were nonrelated to the failure...

So... yes... you are more likely to break half shafts on slicks... even on drag radials... but... so far the stock half shafts are holding up to some incrediable abuse...

the only failures that i have heard of (relating to DRAG RACING) are when you launch the car on or near the rev limiter... this practices clearly doesn't need to happen though...

i run kumho v700s which are not drag tires but hook like mad as long as you do a small burnout... these things are pretty damn grippy... they are for road racing but they sure do hook at the strip... i ran an 11.6 on them in another car...

So what size are you runnin.....Opening day at E-Town is Feb 25th so i wanna be ready to break stuff. Ran the car this weekend at the local spot with the new TB and intake....lets just say, everyone thinks i sprayed them even though my bottle isnt in....YET

i think that pass was a 205 -50-15... really really short tires...

the 11.6 was on a totally different car... doesn't exactly apply to this...

you can actually break as much stuff on drag radials as slicks...

Slicks are often more forgiving on the launch because the sidewall wrinkles and absorbs lots of shock...which makes it easier on the drivetrain... when this shock is released your car will slingshot forward from the tension being relieved...

Drag radials have less give and "shock" the drivetrain more... when they hook... they hook... their isn't any give in that stiff side wall and can cause failures...

Bottom line... you are probably going to break something sooner or later... If you DRAG race alot at the track... i would buy slicks... if you want to have good grip on the street for street raci... uhh... uhh... driving... then go with drag radials...

Personal choice and just depends on what you are going to do with everything... i think with a 19% a 75-100shot and slicks you will be deep into the 12's with a good launch! You will be one of the fastest MINI's out their!

Yes. There is no difference in size between the brakes on the MC and the MCS. You can put 15's on the MCS. No problems.

Thats what i was just thinkin.....The stock mini wheel is 5 1/2 wide so im gonna have to use the 205....the 225 would be stretched to much but im sure it will fit.

Hey....Im sure your right about the gearing so ill have to see myself when i run em....I can always sell them and use my 16's with a 225

I think the only problem you are going to have is gearing... but i could be wrong i haven't run a mini with nitrous... even if you went to a bigger tire you might be going so fast that you have to shift to 5th anyways... running it is the only way we will find out! Can't wait to see your results! Im excited to finally having someone else seriously run their MINI!

Ohh yeah... about the other thing... no biggie...

Believe it or not he isn't trying to start trouble either... he can get excited... if you were out here or we were out their... we would probably all be really good friends... thats whats funny about the whole thing

W run the 205 BFG and if you're running 105 and up you'll be changing into 5th and its so fustrating espically if you're running 13.0s

You still need a very good track for them to hook we were getting wheel hop in 1st and 2nd when the nitrous was activated so we had to roll into it.

I've spent a lot of years trying to make street tyres to hook on various cars and it can be so frustrating but you do when you get it right.

I've now gone to the darkside and bought some slicks so looks like it could be broken driveshafts on the last weekend of March or deep into the 12s
