Clarity Thoughts

So on Sunday I decided to do a full detail (or semi full) on my current car. Unfortunately I didn't break out my Prima products yet as I'm saving it for my 07 MCS. Plus I had some existing products to try and finish up...hate to waste $$$. Well after a few hours spent on washing, claying, polishing, and finally waxing my windows needed some love. Instead of grabbing my bottle of Windex (now relagated to house windows and glass) I decided to break out the Clarity.

After applying it on my windows and using the MF cloth I noticed how clean they looked. In fact I was quite shocked
No streaks.
No nasty ammonia smell.
Not runny.

It was instant on, instant off! My windows were so clean I thought I didn't have any windows on my car!

Clarity is DA BOMB!
If anyone is looking for some great window cleaner...Clarity is it!

I'm definately thinking gallon purchases in my near future!

Haha. I agree with you completely. I hated cleaning windows more than getting cavities filled, now I look forward to it.

Thanks for the Clarity & MF review! The glass cloth and Clarity really are quite an excellent team. I love to hear when someone else has discovered it!

Now just wait until you break out the rest of the goodies...

i did my legacy's inner windows and where it use to take me like 10-15min to do, i
took maybe no more than 5-6. it's because each wipe is very efficient.

I usually skip the rear-most (back) window altogether, and now I always clean it.

I am graduating from Windex to Clarity in preparation for Aquapel. Thank-you everyone for opening a whole new world to me. My obsession grows.

I am possibly the worst window washer in the world. (Yes, the WWWW Intercontinental Championship Belt is all mine.) Streaks? Oh, the streaks. I get the streaks so bad...

Oh, wait, we were talking about windows. So, yeah. My Prima order from Detailer's Warehizzy shipped today, so we'll see if I'm still the King of the Streak when the Clarity gets here.

(And yes kenchan, I also got some Hydro.)

Finally tried out the Clarity today. We'll see if they can still call me 'The Streak'.

Amazing stuff. I used it to prepare my windshield for Aquapel. It's not easy to impress my wife, but driving home tonight, she commented on how very clear the windows were before I had a chance to tell her.

I think I'm going to be addicted to the stuff. I will try to keep it a once a week habit, but that will be tough since I keep the Clarity in the boot.

I keep my Clarity bottle in the car and tried to use it today. Noticed the stuff was frozen solid. Hopefully, it'll be as good as new when thawed.

I did a quick drive through wash the other day, since I need a hose and bucket before I can use the rest of my Prima stuff. Anyway I broke out the Clarity for the window. I was very impressed as well, especially with the cloth. it was super clean for 4 days, which is almost a miracle when I park outside and next to LAX all day and night. Granted it's sprinkling now so it will be lost I am sure.

It should be just fine. Clarity is pretty tough when it comes to temperatures. Just give it a little shake once it's thawed to make sure that it hasn't separated (which it isn't likely to do anyway).

You should be good to go!

I agree - the combination of Clarity + MF glass cloth is definitely greater than the sum of the parts. I still like Clarity better than any of the other glass cleaners I've used, even when I'm caught without a MF glass cloth, but it's only with the MF cloth that I truly get the "one wipe/no buffing" streak-free results.

OK, I have had some mixed results lately with Clarity. After each wash I used clarity. At night with glare, or if it fogs up, there is a mass of streaks. I am using the glass cloth as well. Is there some technique I should be using?

Try using less spray, maybe? I still get some streaks with Clarity+MF, but I am the Streak Master. Maybe someone who can actually wash windows reasonably well can offer a better answer.

Can someone give us an honest comparison of Clarity to Stoner's Invisible Glass? PLEASE!!! I've been using Stoner's and absolutely love it ..... but am always willing to adapt to changing technologies.

If you love it, and you don't have any complaints about it, then I can't see much compelling reason to switch. (Note: I have no experience with this Stoners you speak of.)

with clarity you get a great looking bottle and get to join our
gallon club when you buy 3 gallons of Prima products.

so you have to give it a shot and see for yourself why people
buy these in GALLONS.

Nick here. Maybe I can help.

Try using a bit cleaner more until you get the glass where you want it. When you get into maintenance mode you will use less. Since Clarity doesn't have alcohol or ammonia, it relies on a unique combination of surfactants. For dirty glass, it takes a few more wipes, but it stays wet for you. A little more product will help break up the haze.

You might also try washing your glass cloth and hanging it dry. It may have some residue from manufacturing with could transfer back to the glass.

Finally, if you don't get good results from the above, we have to look at your dash and what may be covering it or on it. Since Clarity seems to be working for other MINI owners, we can assume that it is appropriate for the type of off-gassing associated with the vehicle. Not all glass cleaners work with all types of residue. Do you have a dash matt installed? What type of vinyl protectant are you using?...sorry, before we get too involved, try the first two suggestions. Please keep us posted.

I think we are "all" pretty honest here on NAM, atleast in the Detailing101 forum, lol. I used to love Stoner's before I tried Clarity. I liked the fact it didn't streak, and didn't seem to contain any alcohol and didn't cause the glass to haze up after wiping it off. The aerosol can was nice that it didn't take much effort to use and you could "throw" product from one side to the other.

I like clarity better because of the MF towel and cleaner combo, is the best I've ever used and I used to hate cleaning glass. Clarity seems to leave my glass cleaner with less effort. Not having a potentially explosive aerosol can in my car is nice too, lol. My Jet Black gets pretty darn hot inside. As far as comparing the two products, they are both good products, but after having used Stoners for a number of years, then finding that Clarity just seemed to work better--I haven't switched back. I like Clarity the best, and that's my own honest personal opinion. Don't let the fact that I sell Clarity affect you.

Stoners is available in a non-aerosol bottle:

I still swear by the stuff
