I normally just wash mine with Mystique too. But the Yukon's were disGUSTing. I don't know what is in that Rubber Cleaner but you could literally just see it disolving the crap off the tires and run down onto the driveway. Blech.

Anyway, so yeah, I recommend it for really dirty tires and the occassional use on well-kept tires. You just spray it on, let it sit for a few minutes, then I just took an old tire brush to do a mild scrub with leftover Mystique water, and rinsed it off. It was good, and actually the first time I'd used it.

For dressing, I REALLY like Four Star Tire Gel (available from DP). It goes on pretty glossy but it dries to a nice natural shine, and lasts pretty well. I felt like I used half a bottle on those tires today - they were really dry and neglected, and HUGE!

Went through my bottle of Hydro already... lasted just a few weeks. Remember, I have two MINIs to detail and I had to try that stuff on the big ol' SUV to see what it could do with that somewhat neglected paint.

So... gallon jug of the magical juice is on the way.

I tried out Hydro today! This is after my Zaino routine I did a couple of weekends ago, so shiny!!!(well, I cheated a little w/ Zaino). But, very nice stuff and easy to use. Can I join the club now?

Oh man I just noticed but, is that a rain cloud creeping up?

^ NICE !!

And don't worry about that rain cloud. Just spritz a little more Hydro on the wet car and then dry it... instant car wash !

Or, you could just pull into the drive through at that McDonald's over there. The overhang looks big enough for your MINI. Get me a two Big Mac's and a large fry while you're there. Thanks.

No problem... it won't be the first time I've driven to that Mickey D's before...

I was at that Mickey D's this afternoon! You actually drove by while I was at the window. I've seen your car in the driveway several times. I work right down the street, at the business park across from Ghar high school.

Oh and to keep on topic I'm about to place an order at DP for a bunch of Primo, MF towels, and some other detailing bits. Can't wait to make the switch from Zaino to Epic & Hydro, just to try something new.

I went to Gahr (like 15 years ago) and I virtually grew up on Happy Meals! I'll keep my eye out for you the next time you're ordering a Double Quarter Pounder meal... and to stay on topic too.. DP should make a Hydro and MF towel combo #1 with the option to Supersize to the Gallon...

You're gonna love how Epic/Hydro look on your PW!! I was a Zaino user and while I liked the shine, on PW it just looked shiny on top, no depth. Epic has some depth to it that looks great. Between the Prima line and my new BW Luie looks like a million bucks!

As a side note, I'm heading to Denver this weekend and hope to make a trip to Detailer's Paradise to see if I can get myself into more trouble. The only thing I really need is a gallon of Mystique, but am looking forward to cruising the aisles - I'll consider that the sight-seeing part of my trip

I think if I were to actually go into DP, I would make a little nest out of MF Max and go to sleep in pure bliss.

...there's no place like home...

Well, a number of you convinced me that Hydro was the way to go. Since I do not like to spend a lot of time washing and waxing a car, I thought I would give it a try. Actually, my mother-in-law gave me $100 bucks for my birthday (I don't know why- I am too old for that), anyways she always wants to know what I will use it for because she likes it when we spend it on something we wouldn't normally buy ourselves. So, I went hog-wild at DP and bought Hydro, Clarity, Slick, Nero, Wizard's Bug Removal, and clay.

The products are great and easy to use. Fintan had a face full of bugs when I got home last Friday and the bug removal stuff worked great- they came right off as you can see

I have not clayed yet- and will probably check out EPIC as well. Now for a after-Hydro profile shot....

Thanks for all of the detailing information -Hey...does this mean I can join the club?

Hydro newbie here! Just got my DP shipment of Hydro, Epic and two clay bars. The clar bars are for next time.

But, I have a question about proper use of Hydro.

Do I spray it over the entire car (while wet) and then "dry"? I'm used to the 2' x 2' section thing.

Also, after my clay bar last weekend, I waxed with Meguiar's NXT...nice! Can I now just Hydro? Or, should I do Epic and then Hydro?

Thanks for the thread and advice! (See Heather? I told you I'd be buying pretty quickly! Thanks for the clay bar tips! )

I would just Hydro over the NXT. It is a decent enough wax. If it were me I would wait til the NXT is wearing off & then claybar/Epic. When I applied Hydro wet I just squirted the area I was about to dry but I am sure you can do it different ways. I squirted down the whole front of the MINI then dried, squirted one whole side & then dried, squirted the whole rear & then dried, etc...
