I used the Wizard's Black Renew for the first time 2 weeks ago. I was very impressed at how brand new it made my trim look b-u-t I felt like it wore off after one week & I just don't have the time to detail my trim every freakin week <sigh> The Wizard's may be still hiding on my trim & protecting it but I the added blackness it gave was gone in a week.

^^ what did you use again to clean the arches before you applied
black renew?

maybe you should consider looking at painting the arches.

I use Slick to clean up the tape seams. I find that after taping and applying Swirl and Epic, alot of gunk builds up where the tape edge is (it's doing its job) but Slick cleans it up really quickly. Sprays a line right on the seam, and a spray on the towel (just a corner) and it comes off first swipe.

I want to know where you got your tent or where I can get one like it!!! Stupid question - what holds it down and prevents it from blowing away?

I actually got it from work (A grocery store). It was used in a display for Coke (notice the Minute Maid and Nestea logos all over it), like the basketball net to the left and when vendors take down their display, the employees of the store get to fight for the stuff used to make it. The only thing holding it down is gravity. I usually use it for tailgaiting at University of MD football games, and when we have it set up there we use gravity to keep it down too, unless its windy, then it gets tied to whatever it near by. It came with screws for if I wanted to drill into the concrete to screw it in, but its so much simplier to just not use it when its windy (or supposed to be windy.) Its rather heavy so typically it takes quite a bit of force to move it though.

Check Walmarts to find one. That tent is probably just about 7 or 8 square feet. So if you can find something 12-15 square feet it should be able to cover your entire MINI, except around dawn and dusk.

Your MF towel and Clarity is a great combination. I love it and everytime I get asked about glass cleaners, I pull out that combo, and they love it too! Definitely a winner.

Sometimes you have do stuff by hand. Although with my PC Guard, it definitely makes buffing safer in that area. I've also got a new product called the OneGrip to be released in the very near future that will make working in those hard to reach areas easier and safer. I let the attendees at my grand opening use it on their cars and whether they were first time PC users or long time users, they said it took all the strain out of their fingers of holding the PC..but I'll let the Trim Gel come out first, before I continue to tease. LOL.

RE: Tent
You look like a pro now! I love my EZ UP. I just wish it were bigger! 10x10 is too small even for a MINI.

Overall, just listen to the OG DVD and you'll do fine, with no problems

On a side note - I'm surprised no one mentioned anything about my super cool tent

Hey, OctaneGuy, how do you keep yours from blowing away if it's windy?

Haha either I don't use it , or I fix it down using bungee cords and very heavy immovable objects. These are not permanent installs of course--just long enough to work. And when it's not needed it gets folded up.

I've tried weighing it down with milk jugs filled with sand, and it can still take off. EZ UP sells bags with hooks that are designed for the same thing--but a little pricey for what it is.

At one autocross event, we had my Cooper spare tire on one leg (when I had my cooper still), a huge ice chest on another leg....

Here's the tent I used yesterday. But of couse it wasn't windy. One of my future projects are either casters or some type of bootie over the feet so that they slide so I can roll the EZ UP around. It's hard to manage with one person. I like to move the EZ UP around while I work so I can check the work under sunlight if possible.

octaneguy- does anyone make large wheel covers (like a huge shower cap)
to protect expensive wheels? I noticed you used newspaper but i don't
get the paper and flyers are just too damn small to tape up each time.

i dont want any crap falling on my GT3's while im going to be detailing my G
pretty soon.

I've seen them at Harbor Freight. I don't use them because the potential number of different wheel/tire sizes would mean having to stock a whole bunch of different sizes for my details (and I've only seen them in a few sizes). Newspaper is cheap and free (would have recycled it anyways).

Usually they are sold for RV's to protect the tires during storage. The shower cap idea is fine except it's kind of hard to push it over a wheel that has 2800 pounds sitting on it! LOL.

Unless you put your car on a lift or jackstands when you detail, it's not going to be easy. LOL

If you got 17" wheels, these should be perfect!

i just want the face and lips of the wheels covered.

larger in overal circumference... (19x8.5 and 19x10 running 275's on the
rear. )

Wouldn't a couple of old sheets do the trick, too?

I was about to say the same thing. When I buy new bedding I always keep my old sheets for painting & such as this. An old bath towel should work too
