Bird Poop Attack

Had my MINI at the beach yesterday and some #$%@& bird pooped on the hood. The only thing I had handy was some McG's QD. It took some rubbing to get the sub stain bird poop mark off the paint (car's only a couple of months old). The poop hadn't been on more than a couple of hours. I've read a lot in this forum about "my wax is best".

Any agreement on what wax is going to protect my paint the best against bp. This wasn't even a seagull, just a starling. But I've seen paint ruined from it.

(Thank goodness it wasn't on the ragg top!)

Related problem....

don't mean to "hijack" your thread but I have a bp issue as
well. Every night a bird gets into my garage and stays there all night .... pooping on the floor mostly but he (or she?) has hit the mini several times.
Any ideas how to trap this culprit? We keep the garage door closed as much as possible but he seems to sneak in late in the day when the door is open for even short periods of time.

I have a bird dropping mark that seems to be permanent. I've tried everything to get it out. Even Scratch-X. That poo was only on my car for about an hour. :( :(

Shouldn't be that hard to find it. Look right above where the poop is. Probably not going to keep it out if it wants to live there. Grab it at night time and throw it out, maybe it won't come back. If it does, you will have to
euthanize it. I had a person I know tell me he shot it with the long distance wasp and hornet spray and when it fell to the floor, he put it out of its misery. He could have been lying to me and I would never suggest that anyone do such an inhumane thing.

Your ticket is 3M Swirl Mark remover for dark colored cars (They also sell a version for light colors). Wash the car, apply over affected area (may require at least 2-3 applications and elbow grease) and follow up with your favorite wax.

I have noticed that the ëtching" of the clearcoat tends to dissapear over time. It seems that the poop acides embbeded in the clearcoat tend to evaporate under direct sunlight.

Bird poop is the #1 enemy of any car finish.

You might try the good neighbor approach & put a bird feeder somewhere in your yard (away from the garage) & then MBE the little bugger will hang out there. I have a feeder in my back yard & many many birds frequent it while my Mini sits ungaraged in the front of the house & is poop free

OMG we have tons of those geese at my office. They leave poop as big as my 70LB dog does

really? cause that's usually a non-reversible chemical
reaction (etching).
